Anything with 'Out of this World' in it I have to buy!
Check out the postage costs before you use your favourite dealer. They are very reasonable.

I would like to know how many of these books there will be when the "set" is complete. I see this one is "book 1" which leads me to believe it will be a series. It would be nice to have a total so maybe there could be a "subscription price" with a discount for those who would subscribe to all in advance. Just thinking out loud.

Yeah, like Poof-Daddy I'm curious about the plans for the series. I don't see anyone offering them as a subscription so I'm guessing there's no set release for the second one.

The tricks in 1 I must say were not very good though imo. The theory and techniques however are pretty solid. I hope with 2, the tricks will be better.

Perhaps the answer is to wait for reviews before buying...

I'm reading this book for a review later this week and I just don't get it.
It doesn't manage the ideas set out in the preface at all. It is a flimsy book, not only in physical weight but content too. The three tricks are okay but not original in plot or ideas. If you are proficient in the slieghts required (you need to be because they aren't taught - although pages are taken up with photos of them) you'd probably have started with very similar effects already. The two moves taught are good alternatives to common methods but with no real advantage so why change? The theory chapter was very interesting, but padded with illustrations and verbose explanations of where the theory originated. It really should be a couple of pages between effects like in the Books of Wonder for example. The final chapter is just pure filler made from someone else's book, with no personal insight from Ben Earl about how it relates to his magic and performance. Physically the book looks nice but the type runs too close to the binding making it awkward to read the words nearest the middle. Fingers crossed the second volume is better, because this one seemed lazy. |

Harry Patter and David Kenny’s reviews could not be more different. Certainly not a price I’d pay.
