I notice something in the trailer...maybe they need to edit it a little.
https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=65579 Description: Affected by Berglas is a commercial, practical and FOOLING Any Card At Any Number routine created by one of the best mentalists in the world, Marc Paul! Your spectator names ANY number between 1 and 52, with no forces! Another spectator looks at the cards and thinks of ANY of them - again, no force! The deck is handed to a third spectator, who then deals down to the freely selected number... and there, finds the named card! The special deck does everything for you! No Sleight of Hand! No Forces! Different Results Every Time! Spectator Can Deal! Special Bicycle Deck included! |

10 out of 10 for the trailer but it kindda gives it away somewhat. I’m sure it’ll fry laymen though.

I've liked this approach to the effect since I saw Marc do it to me some 15-16 years ago, and Im glad to see it released again!
(I hate bad maths, even if the spectator might "buy into" it... it's 1 in 52 ) All the best, Dan |

Marc Paul is brilliant, so I look forward to anything he releases, always have loved the CAAN effect - absolutely hate the presentation though! 1 in 125,000?? Maybe living near JPL and Cal Tech in Los Angeles puts me around people who are more math-familiar than the rest of the world, but if you do run into anyone who has some sense of odds -- presenting it this way will make you look you're either clueless or a liar! Heck, with this "odd logic", why not add in...
"So the odds are 1 in 125,000! But wait, we're doing this on October 29th, and there are 365 days in a year, so the odds of finding THAT card, and THAT number, in THAT deck, on THIS date is a whopping 46,625,000! And that doesn't even account for the fact that we're doing this in 2019...don't get me started with years!!!" ;-) All that said, like I mentioned, I'm a huge Marc fan, so will probably be getting this -- what are the odds of that?!? |

It’s a very reasonable price considering the gimmicked deck you receive. I’d leave out all that math and odds boll**** though.

Mr Mindbender, did you know there are more ways to arrange a deck of cards than atoms in our galaxy... So whack in 52! in there as well... Lets not hold back
But in all seriousness, this is a good version of the trick! Just don't do stupid maths... All the best, Daniel |

Pegasus, I thought it was obvious I joked that Mindbender should whack in 52! in there as well, to exaggerate the odds in further. As I stated in my first post, its 1 in 52.

This effect doesn't make even the slightest sense. If the spectator saw his card in the last section of the deck, then how comes it is now at the 12th position? Is this a transposition effect? Because this is the only way a spectator would interpret it. Even in the trailer the lady says "It shouldn't be there".
The only way this could be done in a compelling way is using 2 decks. |

Or simply do a ***** riffle shuffle after the card has been thought of and before the number is named...that's what I do.
Just to clarify I do it the other way round from the video. I get the card thought of first, do a quick ***** shuffle and then asked for a number. I then emphasize the impossibility that their card is at that number. I start to count and then say..."you probably don't trust me so YOU better count yourself" It's a VERY practical easy ACAAN that has served me well for over 20 years!! I hope that helps. |

The position of the card is so easily fixed, as Marc explained. This is so void of all the !@#$ery and is a no brainer, in every sense. If I still did my shows, this is how I would do it!
Did you not do this on some talk show here in Britain, Marc? All the best, Dan |

Not only a cool trick, but very good value! You couldn't easily make this yourself for much less.
