I am currently doing a chop cup routine, but I would like to produce a drink at the end as an extra encore. Due to my working conditions, I need something with very little, or no reset, so just an empty can or bottle would be fine as I don't need to pour any liquid.
Does anyone have any suggestions for something that might fit in the Don Alan Full Size Chop Cup? https://www.rnt2.com/don-alan-full-size-......ish.html I haven't received the cup yet, but I'm hoping maybe one of those extra small cans of coke might fit (and then I'm not sure how much it would talk as it's loaded). If I could produce a can like Paul Gertner does at the end of his cups and balls routine on Fool Us, that would be perfect, however to my knowledge he doesn't sell them or have any instructions available on making them. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx3spZi1FjM (at the 7 minute mark). Any advice or suggestions would be excellent - thank you very much! |

Paul Gertner goes into a lot of detail on what went into the development of his Fool Us kicker in his blog in two parts. Hopefully this will help.

Thank you very much! I found the second part, but didn't realize there was a first one.
I think I understand the basic workings of his can, but I'm not sure if I would feel comfortable making one without his permission, plus figuring out the details from scratch would probably take a huge amount of effort. I know he was using them as one time use items, but I wonder if he would consider selling them as reusable ones, just by not having it opened at the end (as he was doing in his practice sessions). Thank you again! ![]() |

Too bad you don't want to produce a liquid, but the next best thing is to produce a ball out of which you can squeeze a liquid into a glass.

Scott Alexander has work on liquid loads (10 or 12 o'clock show) and on one of the penguin lectures - fairly easy to do.

My main concern with liquids is just the reset, and possible mess. If there was something with very little or no reset though, I would seriously consider it.

They make fake liquid drink props. Here’s fake whiskey in a shot glass.

Produce an empty shot glass from your Chop Cup, and then use the Chop Cup to produce a small whiskey bottle, pour and drink, wipe out glass and move on to the next table. Probably best to replace the whiskey with brown colored water if you don't want to pass out before your gig is done. You can keep about 10 to 12 bottles in your pockets, and just use the same shot glass over and over. Use plastic bottles so you don't clink and clank as you walk about.

We sold a very relistic shot glass at a joke shot 50 years ago for a buck. Probably still around.

Small shot glass or as mentioned above the fake whiskey shot glass is perfect
I use to produce the small shotglass from cup, now use a larger shotglass from egg bag.. |

You can use thick Jello instead of liquid. It wiggles enough to simulate liquid but allows you to toss the glass around or load with ease.
