Joel Dickinson has a new version of "Volition" !

First let me say I do love Volition!

In this new version there´s no s****h anymore.
So in my opinion he made the weakest part of the original version better.
BUT: I think the "free will" effect is weaker now, because he tells the spectator exactly where to put the first card. In the original version the spectator has more "free will" on that part. And "free will", well, that´s what the effect is about, isn´t it?

What do you think?

Think you have free will? Think again...
This is a classic of magic re-imagined.

E:Volition is Joel's brand new updated variation of his origionl effect 'Volition'.

For years magicians have said 'I can't think of any way to improve this' about the origional.

Your participants decissions and actions are predicted ahead of time in this mind blasting routine.

(NB: The magician can turn his back during the initial mixing process to add an extra layer of deception)

I agree if you have to tell the spectator where to put the first card then it weakens the overall effect.

It’s a matter of taste. When I have the participant mix the cards I turn my head. During my lecture last night I demonstrated how you can perform this to never appear to look at the cards as they’re being mixed.

I’m personally preferring this method over the original and as an effect it doesn’t feel weaker when I perform it. You’re probably thinking, ‘he’s bound to say that’.
But I’m genuine about it.

It’s a matter of preference.

Best wishes,

Joel

So at tonight’s lecture I performed both E:Volition and Volition.

I explained the benefits of both routines and the advantages etc and every magician in the room preferred EVolition.
I’m obviously not biased about either method as I see the advantage and disadvantages some people may well see.

EVolition has a full performance video showing it right through so people can make their own minds up.

Best wishes,

Joel

I like the look of E:Volition. I have the Blue chip version, but am very much intrigued by the E version

Volition is a killer routine!

Joel Dickinson has created several variations of it, so that everybody can decide which version fulfills his personal requirements.
I recommend you to visit
https://tadaa.co.uk/shop/search.php?q=Vo......n=Search
and see which version is best for you.
I perform Volition since 2016 and its still one of my favourite routines. Hard hitting, easy, hard hitting.

Joel -- will you be making this available for purchasers (of which I'm already one) to see?

I like the new method very much.

Thanks!

Absolutely. I will keep the Evolition page updated as frequently as I possibly can.

Nice thinking, Luca! Although I must admit that I didn’t buy E:Volition (seeing the video made it obsolet, at least for me). Nevertheless, I like it! Smile Jan

I agree with the point of telling them where to put the card weakens the effect. This is a great review I found of this effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1NP1FdQejM

I do have and use Volition, I don't have E-volition. If the s***** is a problem for you, all you're sacrificing is one free choice by the spectator in version
1 for what appears to be a bit of pure chance in version 2. This is one of those things that *we* fret over, but I'm not sure a layman would care or even notice the difference.

I’m a wedding Toastmaster and MC and I use ‘Volition’ during my casual walk around and interaction with people. I always recommend wedding couples to hire a magician for their reception, but they don’t always do so. I’ll do other easy to carry th8ngs, elastics, sponge balls and card monte. The original version works well for me as I can tailor it. Ladies rarely have ‘pockets’, so I’ll prepare for ‘on table’, for example when I arrive.
I like the poker chip idea but I assume it wouldn’t be practical.
Would EVolution work for me? I assume it’s like the original version without the first phase with three cards (if you see what I mean). I’m trying to how it would be better.
