I recently purchased David Regal's All Alone Deck from Card-Shark. I think it’s a wonderful version of the original Alone as well as the Brainwave plot in general.
But my question is in regards to the type of roughing used. Christian only mentions in passing in the tutorial that the deck is “printed roughed”. Anyone know anything more about this process? I assume it is new. Christian, care to shed any light on this? BTW, probably worth mentioning that the method produces extreme friction. Those with dry hands will likely have problems separating the pairs without a lotion or aid of some kind. I know, I know, use a very light touch. But your touch can only be so light before you aren’t touching them at all. 😃 |

I do not have any more info than you do about "how" the roughing is done (also as the site states) but I wonder if it is achieved by using a different coating finish - like not "Air Cushion Finish"? I have some older "Squeezer" decks with a "Linoid" IIRC finish and they don't fan or spread for s*^$. I could see how a different finish manufactured into the final product could work. Just a guess though.
