Hello All:
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know of a good US source for purchasing double-sided blank cards of the type that Scott Creasey uses in many of his publications? I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive source so I can buy them in quantity. Thanks, Dave |

There is a thread about this. I followed it to amazon and got my dream cards.

So you are poking this in StrangeMagick's face and not sharing info on which cards exactly you found or even just a link to the thread? What a nasty thing to do on Christmas Eve, John C. Or any eve, for that matter.
Here ya go: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=double+blank+......b_noss_1 IIRC everyone agrees the Apostrophe Games cards work well.

Yes, the Apostrophe ones are good. I recommend the 'Aqueous' finish. It has enough glide but isn't as shiny as the glossy. The matte ones are a touch clumpy.

Okay, I'm glad this thread was started. I got those exact cards and I'm finding that having people write with Sharpie markers can sometimes leave a residue on the card it's placed against. For instance, the The Name Name routine where
the spectators mix the two cards together, or especially when there's a lot of ink used say in a design duplication. Also what about smudging when the Q&A cards are folded in half? I contacted Scott but never got a reply. Any thoughts fro people who use this in their gigs? Woodfield |

Just let them dry for 3-5 seconds. Make sure to mention that before collecting them.
I use the aqueous finish cards and as long as you give them a few seconds, I don't have any issues with Sharpies smudging. I sometimes also use Bic marking pens, and I find those need an extra second or two over sharpies, but they also dry. Water based pens will not dry though, so no Crayola, Sharpie flip chart, or similar.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to be more aware of drying time.

I ordered those (the Aqueous finish) a couple weeks ago and when they arrived they were the matte finish. They said Matte on the product, but the sticker Amazon put on them said Aqueus, so when they fulfilled the order I got the wrong ones.
I emailed Apostrophe and they fixed things right away. They sent me this: Quote:
"We shipped 600 copies [Matte finish] to Amazon and for some reason a lot of them got relabeled and put into inventory as the Aqueous version. Amazon tends to make more mistakes around the holidays. And it's really difficult to get them to make any changes. Unfortunately, at this time we estimate that about 75% of our "Aqueous" bridge 200 card pack inventory are actually Matte." So if you order those you may want to make sure you got what you ordered as "clumpy" is a good description for the matte version.

I finally got around to ordering some using the link provided above (asked for Aqueous finish, hopefully that is what I'll get). Thanks to everyone for helping!

Well, as Jay mentioned, I got the wrong ones. Mine were mislabeled by Amazon too

Apostrophe Games is making this right. They wanted me to let everyone know that the 50 pack Aqueous card packs are correctly marked by Amazon. Also, Matt at Apostrophe Games wanted to know what other types of cards anyone might like. He gave me permission to post his email address so you can contact him with suggestions. His email is matt@apostrophegames.com.
Thanks, Dave |

Nice! That's very cool that he's open to suggestions. Bummer about the mislabeled cards (and of course the 50 packs are the expensive ones). Also, if I understand correctly, it's only the bridge sized ones that are mislabeled? Poker ones are fine? I've found I actually prefer the poker ones for the most part.
We're a pretty small, niche audience, but I know the magic/mentalism community has indeed been buying the Apostrophe cards. Will definitely have to think about what other features might be nice... Just kinda spitballing, but I wonder if mentalists would like these cards without rounded corners? So they'd look more like index cards and be farther away from playing cards? Dunno, rounded doesn't bother me, but just a thought. Also, not sure if it's possible, but it would be cool if the cards took pencil like the matte ones but spread like the aqueous ones.

Cool! Blank Jumbo cards would be nice as well IMO.

I must say, their people really know how to ignore the clearly marked packaging and basic common sense, it's almost impressive!
