Hello everyone,

Does anybody knows about books that show you how our mind perceives reality. (Im talking about hipothesis as nobody knows absolutely how the mind works).

Any suggestion or idea will be appreciatted!

Happy Holidays

Well, there's this one, but be warned: reading it will make your brain hurt.

I mean that perception is well understood. But the meaning and personal interpretation of your perceptions make your own reality. I was suggesting that you will quickly grasp the perception mechanism of the brain, but you can spend a lifetime to study reality, which is a more philosophical question.

Well that is true, reality is something not well known.

So what books or resources do you know about how perception works?

Google « mind perception » and you will find a lot of books about that subject. Select the ones by searchers in cognitive sciences. Mine are in French. Form my experience, it’s not very interesting. Basic understanding of how the mind perceive is sufficient. Rather explore what you can do with those basic characteristics.

The Magic Rainbow by Tamariz in my opinion is the perfect book on this topic in the context of magic. The neuroscience neuroscience will not give you much that you can practically use.

Somewhere Docc Hilford recommended "The Holographic Mind" (or something similar) by Michael Talbot. Very interesting and is most probably what you are looking for.

From there you could build a "scientific" framework for your performances.
Have a nice day

The Holographic Universe (correct title) is one of my favourite magic books! Along with Psychology of The Psychic.

All the best,
Dan

I just got my hands on Experiencing the Impossible: The Science of Magic (The MIT Press), which looks very promising.

There’s much correct in Talbot’s book.
And in the books he used to research it. 😉
