We are excited to announce that we will be releasing a special "hand of glory" this year.
But not your ordinary hand of glory... oh noooo. This person had polydactylism; meaning more than 5 fingers (7 to be exact). Making it an even more coveted relic. The belief being that the extra fingers made it even more powerful. The hand is cast in polyurethane and resin. Because it is a stiff polyurethane, it will not only look great but it will also feel like the real thing (should you allow people to handle it). And it will basically last forever. It comes gaffed with a strong neodymium magnet in the palm. This will allow you to do a variety of "interesting things". To find out more, go to http://monkeyfish.design Thank you! |

That sounds like a story to be told.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Mr. Scratch created the Bone of the Elders many years ago. I have one of the bones and it still looks amazing and moves like clockwork, it is a Bizarre treasure. I hope this means he will be making many more props in the future.

Hello.
Thank you all for the super nice comments on the bone. I very much appreciate it! It was a tremendous amount of work. In the end, that's why I stopped making them. But with all the comments...it made all the work worthwhile. The hand of glory is in full production mode now. Thank you all again! Richard Belotte |

Hello all. I just wanted to post an update on the hand of glory.
The first few are going out on Monday. There are still a few spots open at the "special" price, but they are filling up fast. So if you want one, get on it quick. Thank you, Richard Belotte (AKA Mr. Scratch) |

With the world the way it is right now, I've been spending more time with books and props that I've collected, and just wanted to chime in about this incredible Hand of Glory. It is so exquisite!
Up close it looks incredibly realistic, and I did ask Mr. Scratch to do a bit of extra weathering with the "white-ish stuff" and boy... this can pass for a genuine mummified hand, almost like a hand from one of the "bog people" that someone posted about recently. I actually thought it was molded from a real hand, but nope--he tells me it was completely sculpted. It has one or more magnets in it, but just to clarify, it is NOT a rapping hand (I initially thought it was). I've been letting my creativity run loose with some ideas for the magnet, but I gotta say, just the hand alone, with it's extra two digits that have a realistic look, is enough to help set the stage for some truly creepy magic. It is molded with a very stiff rubber that has a somewhat disturbing leathery feel to it. It feels solid, almost like a resin, but has just a tiny bit of give to it... not that anyone will be trying to bend anything. The size, weight, and texture are enough to make anyone brave enough to touch it fully believe that this is from a long dead formerly alive person. I love this thing! Mr. Scratch is a talented and dedicated artisan to be sure. I would definitely contact him if you are interested in a Hand of Glory that is different from any other, and if you do, I recommend asking for the extra aged touch. It is something any devoted Bizarrist will cherish! (After we corresponded a bit and I told him I grabbed the hand quickly because I missed out on Bone of the Elders years ago, he also dropped a veiled hint that another run of that item, or something similar, might not be too far fetched... I certainly don't want to raise any hopes, but that--admittedly remote--possibility got me a bit excited!) Anyway, I hope everyone is staying safe, sane, and healthy during this crazy dark time..! I have to say that I am completely thrilled with my Polydactyl Hand of Glory. Purchasing it was easy, Mr. Scratch and I had a great dialog with frequent updates on his progress. When the hand arrived I was pleasantly surprised at its quality and realism. As to the movement of the hand I am pleased, it won’t fly off the table, and I wouldn’t want it to, but it will move enough to be spooooooky if you want. All in all, a great addition to my collection created by a talented and unique (understatement) Bizarre Master Innovator. |
