Any one know where to get these small bowls in the USA? I’ve seen several Indian street magicians use them. What are they? Some appear to have small holes in the bottom as if they are from a set of hanging chimes(?).

They are often alarm bells.
I've seen some where they've actually screwed knobs thru the hole to make more standard Indian Cups. Also seen smaller ones in use that looked like they were from bike bells. |

I never thought about that as a potential source. Thanks Zauberman!

You might just try Amazon (small metal bowls) and end up with a wide variety of choices that will work.

The cups used for the India Cups and Balls routine, are said to be made from India Brass Claw Bells. The Claws are cut off, and only the nob on top is used to hold the bell between the fingers.
Flat bottom bowls would be Finger Bowls, Ashtrays, or Drink Coasters. Ask your wife or mother or Grandmother for further suggestions. Or take a vacation to India. |
