IMO, Ringflight Revolution is hard to beat. All contained together with a super fast reset which continues to kill every time I perform it. Not once have I ever received any type of low energy reactions from an audience with RFR. I wish Roddy success with this but just doesn't look like it would suit me in getting better reactions than the Ol' Ringflight Revolution. Though, it may suit others!

I think one of the biggest reasons ring flight gets such a great response is because the keys are never in play. They never see them, you never touch them, your hands never leave the front of your body, and yet, their ring ends up on your keychain!
The biggest downside with this version is that the keys are in play and you must touch them after the ring is hidden in your fist. So if they think back, they will probably think “I don’t know how, but he must have put it on there when he was holding the keys” Whereas with the original, they think back and have nothing to turn to because the keys were never there and your hands never left their sight. This is trying to fix something that isn’t broken.

I agree with Madison but as a casual performer performing RFR is not always practical so I am always on the lookout for something similar that I can easily carry daily. This fits that criteria but IMO lacks the impact I am looking for in that type of effect primarily because of the very reason Madison stated.

Nick Einhorn’s version is still the best low tech version

I still use my one from Dick Barry I bought 15 years ago the leather wallet type with the zipper It has never failed me yet. I also use Departure by Chris Smith for more casual settings, heading over now to check out Nick Einhorn's version . Anyone remember the one Gaetan Bloom put out many years ago ? Tony Clark released a ring flight years ago that looks similar to Rodney's using the ring.

I used the old Ring Flight for years but had a really close call with a nearly priceless ring. Haven't used my old Ring Flight since. Handling of Flight 101 strikes me as a bit of a kluge so I've never used it after a few practice sessions. A new one, Flight, from eIllusion that I'm interested in, but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Anyone seen that one up close and personal yet? |

So I got Flite from ellusion and must say that it could be the best ring flight.
There is no risk of sending someone's precious ring flying, the key ring is not a dated key-fobby-thingy, and the handling is not klughy like Flight101. The tutorial credits Einhorn but the gaffus is more like something I got from Sankey. A solid loading strategy was given in the tutorial along with some refinements for the gaff. One of the strong points of the reeled approach to ring flight is the right-before-your-eyes-instant-vanish. You don't get that with Flite unless you use a strike vanish and immediately produce your keys. You could, in theory, do an in-their-face linking, but as visual as that is, IMO it would fall flat without some sort of plot around it. If you've had ring flight disasters or one too many close calls, Flite is a solid alternative. Exercising your creativity might make it as impressive as THE ring flight. |
