Hiya. Always loved David Roth’s wild coin routine, but wanted to develop a stand up version suitable for mix and mingle and at tables. Here’s a handling I’ve been using, hope you like it.... no gimmicks either

A good day for this as it's also the great David Roth's birthday. Smile Think he would like this too. Smile

Great version Sean!
I also love to use the Wild Coin routine from Kainoa Harbottle on "Inferential"
However, Your's is totally in YOUR hands. This is a very routine in the current COVID-19 scare. You can show magic for people, keeping Social Spacing. LOL

Blessings,
STEPH

Thanks Steph. Yes indeed, it’s tough for us full time pros at the moment.... I’ve had all my April bookings either cancel or rearrange. Hence, need to look for alternative income streams my friend.

Take care

Sean

Interesting how moves that might be consider fumbling in some routines come off as natural here.
One key factor, methinks, is that no observer has any expectation of what will happen next, including the performer.

My only question would be what comes before and after in the flow of a presentation -
not that you need reveal that "real secret of magic" Smile

Thanks for your feedback Funsway - I use this routine as an intro into a table. The reason for that is - it’s a quick routine with lots of magic going on, it’s fun, it demonstrates your “skill” and therefore credibility as a magician in a relaxed manner, there is no direct spectator involvement which allows you to manage the timings easily and finally it’s easily visible to the whole table.

The following effect is up to you, but I would then do something to involve spectators directly. I like to follow it personally with Multidimensional - something totally different.

Stay safe everyone

Hi Sean,
I did try and tune in for your coin routine but for some reason I couldn't get the link to work Smile

David Roth demonstrated such a routine in his lecture. Then he introduced a fine routine by Sawa that gives the effect a different spin.

I'm still looking for a clinker.

Bad idea for the day, asking a volunteer to hold out their hand and hold out the cup - as far away as possible, steady as possible. ??

Thoughts?

It’s a great performance. I really love it.
In fact... your effect is that great, I would like to learn it.
In some way it looks like cleaner than the original ‘Wild coins’.
