I am looking at getting a new coin DVD. I am wondering what everybody would suggest?

That would depend on which ones may already own and/or what you are looking for in a coin DVD?

The David Roth Ultimate Coin DVDs are packed full of great coin magic. I believe there are two VHS videos per each DVD.

After Roth and Rubenstein I would suggest Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic.

I have plenty of reviews for many of the coin magic DVDs that have been released at http://www.coinvanish.com

Another vote for you to check out coinvanish.

IMO:
- Dave Roth´s - Michael Ammar´s And if my friend Vinny recommend Mickey Silver's coin DVD, sure it will be a must-have. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

When Mickey's DVD is avaliable he will be explaining in detail his Silver Ultimate Vanish (SUV) which is the best retention vanish on the planet. He will also be explaining his Spit Fly which is a brilliant effect without the use of gimmick coins. Mickey will also show his many ideas that have never been in print any where.
Mickey has sent many videos to those who were interested in seeing him perform his amazing effects. I hope he includes his one handed coin through the table. He did this at the Magic Castle and the patrons remained with their mouths open as they gasped. And yes, I am Mickey's biggest fan and dear friend. Pablo, just ask Mickey to send you a demo tape of his work. He is the modern day Slydini and Goshman all rolled into one, and this I quote came from the mouth of Martin Nash. vinny |

I'd suggest checking out David Stone's video, but they are not on DVD.
If you are up for a challenge, I would suggest Curtis Kam's Palms of Steel series. |

Having seen Mickey Silver's demo video, I can say that his teaching DVD will be one of the best DVDs ever—now whether I will ever be able to do his SUV move is another issue.
Until Mickey's DVD release, the Ammar DVD and Roth Expert Coin Magic Vol 1-3 are great. Though if you have to choose, I think the Ammar is a better value. The volume of Roth's Ultimate Coin Magic that covers gaffed coins is also very nice, I believe it is vol 1. On it, Roth presents one of the nicest "coins across" with a [ that I have seen. It avoids the noise and coin re-arranging issues that plague most handlings. If you are already comfortable with all of the basic sleights, Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic is a great DVD. My hands are not as fast as Sankey's, but I have still learned a lot from it. A very practical DVD is Paul Green's "In the Trenches." On it there is a very nice handling of two copper one silver, that is a perfect routine for CSB. There is also a coins across routine that takes place in the spectator's hand, very clean and very powerful. This DVD also contains the best card trick I have ever seen—Jeopardy. Finally, Troy Hoosier has an absolutely incredible three volume DVD set titled "Total Destruction", full of great coin work. On it there is a routine called "ExTROYdinary" that is very clean looking and very entertaining. Troy's DVDs are also the best source of material for a flipper coin that I have ever found. Obviously, I like all of these DVDs and suspect that you can't go wrong with any of the suggestions found in the previous posts in this thread. Hope this helps. Good luck. |

Sylvester Pitch Video. It's the best and most practical magic video I've ever seen. This amazing utility move is still amazingly the best kept secret in magic.
If you want coin magic that looks like magic and not moves, this is the video to get.

Roth and Ammar seem to have a few DVDs on coins. Any preferences on what would be good for an intermediate coin magician. I don't have any coin DVDs yet. I have been learning from the Bible...I mean Bobo's.

Ammar & Roth.
Ammar is a great teacher and really breaks things down so it's easy to understand. I like his super practice sessions.
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

Recently, rather than having more VHS tapes duplicated, I opted to have the tape authored to DVD. That DVD is now available. The retail price is $35, but I'll knock off $5 if you mention that you heard about the DVD on the Café. I have not yet updated the website to reflect that the DVD is available, but there is content information on the site. The website is http://www.fasdiu.com and you may contact me at pcummins@fasdiu.com. There is also a review of the tape version of Up In Smoke at Dan Watkins' coinvanish site. I just saw Paul lecture and I must say it was a great lecture!!! Paul's routines are very commercial and what Mike Close would call a "worker," not only that but a really nice guy.
I have the Up in Smoke video and I'm going to get the DVD. I suggest you do the same and while you're there check out his other products. Best Joe

Up in Smoke is fantastic. Citation Silver gets great reactions (real wows and gasps) and is a favourite of mine. Paul Cummins has great tips on the misdirection of his magic which can easily be applied to anything you do. I can't do the coins across yet (but it's something to work for). And PC is very cool.
