Hi Swayne, thanks or asking. There are thorough explanations in my DVD "More Elegant Card Magic", which is the 2nd in a trilogy. Each DVD is usually $34.95 but if you order the whole set from me you can have it for $65 (instead of $104.95), postpaid in the US. Some of this is also in my earlier set of lecture notes "Double-Card Technique". You can have a pdf for $10, and it includes another set of lecure notes "Three Professional Card Routines. You may email me at rafaelbenatar@me.com.

Not sure about the best work. The term 'Best' (so overused on this forum) is always going to be subjective.
The ruse explained on the Vernon tapes, if memory serves me correctly(?), of holding the double card up to display; with the first finger and thumb NAILS pushing against each other either side of the card (thus stopping the 2 cards spreading), may be worth a try?

Greg Wilson has some nice work on this including how to toss a double without it splitting.

Arturo de Ascanio is the father of modern double-card handling, and broke a lot of the ground still being covered today. I'd recommend the second and third volumes of the collected Magic of Ascanio series. Both offer much in the way of technique, psychology, and theory regarding the handling of doubles. I'm sure Mr. Benatar, who translated the series, can attest

I remember an ad for an entire dvd on handling double. I don’t remember who he was, but the techniques were very flourish and beautiful.

Nobody for the Asian guy reference dvd entirely devoted to handling doubles ?
From what I can remember, there was a lot of table techniques, and in my humble opinion, it remains very risky to use that sort of technique. Not for pro work. |

I have a 60 min. download marketed and nicely produced by GrupoKaps (Dani Daortiz) with my original and updated work on doubles and several related
tricks. Thanks to an arrangement with Dani, I can now offer it at the discounted price of $22. To order, contact me at rafaelbenatar@me.com. |

Anyone looking to improve their handling of the double lift needs to invest in Mr. Benatar's download. Anyone looking to try different methods needs to invest in Mr. Benatar's download. It just might end a lot of frustration.

Garry Ouelette's crook move mentioned earlier by magicfish is a very cool move. Had a lot of fun with it over the years. It's a move that for me, feels safe. Should look it up and play with it. Also check out his "hollywood" double lift and turnover.
