I have to break out my can of Science Friction to make some gaffs. I'm going to prepare some cards (JD) for Red Hot Mama, the DB I need for Blue Illusion, some Jokers for Monkey in the Middle (because I think it will work instead of glue) and a refresh of my Poker Test 2.0 gimmicks along with a second set.
While I am making gaffs, I figured I'd ask the Café what your favorite SF card gaffs are? What ones should I make whilst I'm spraying? Trick names and references are appreciated if possible.

You can put together a nice "Invisible Deck" or "Brainwave Deck" (only one card of each pair needs treated). I mention this because I was never super confident with an "ID" using roughing spray (Testors Dulcote was my spray of choice for years) but after purchasing an Invisible deck from Card-Shark (Phoenix Brand) made with Science Friction, I suddenly started performing it more often than I had in all the years combined. Love it for this type of deck. I also like "Friction Monte" from the 1st Science Friction DVD that came with the SF KIT. I imagine you could adapt the same idea to David Regal's "Change for a Five".

A zombie thread revival...
I recently acquired a Phoenix Invisible deck treated with Science Friction. I find the first set of cards tend to partially separate when fanning the deck, so I'm not confident about performing the effect. I'm aware of how and where the cards are treated, and how to handle the Phoenix I.D. I'm wondering if adding a little more treatment to the first pair might help. I'm aware that only one card is treated. My question is if anyone has tried Scotch Spray Mount Repositionable spray as an alternative to Science Friction, and if a quick shot of Scotch Spay Mount on the appropriate spot might do the trick (no pun intended)? |
