Just for the record, in his manuscript he suggests using his paperclipped principle for the ending. Although it's obviously a sales pitch, it would make more sense. It also eliminates envelopes for those who hate them.

I think using the paperclip principle would definitely put it in the realm of really strong mentalim, but it looks pretty good so far.
By the way, for you thinkers, if you look at the routine and add a DB that's R & B you can show that the prediction is from a totally different pack. Just a little subtlty to take the heat off. Greg

All great ideas guys. Sankey has done it again.
I like the way he sells mental effects to lay people. He goes slowly and in detail.

Even though I love Jay Sankey's work, some of his tricks can be a bit too long. This is one of them.

Think about it. It's great effect and I'm probably going to buy it even though you can pretty much figure it out by watching it, but it's made me think and that's always worth a little cash. Greg

Paperclipped ending... yes more impossible, but would need a new card for every performance!

Reviving an old thread here. Jay Sankey sure has put out a TON of stuff. However, there are some things that he has put out that I either still perform, or have inspired me to create something of my own. For example, my version of the cups and balls is based on something he put out eons ago and it was a big flop. I took the idea and modified it to suit me, and it is one of my favorite routines. It is completely different from his release, maybe one day I will release my version.
Back to this one. I really love this routine. One of the questions he presents in his explanation is "what do you do if they pick a card from the 'forbidden fruit'"? He suggests that you just let them and go on to do a different routine. This has happened to me a time or two, and fortunately, I was prepared. What I did was to mark certain cards and do a two card ambitious card routine after doing a faro shuffle of the top half into the bottom half. I just have someone else pick another card and now we have two cards that move all around the deck. I then perform this effect to the second person who picked the second card. KJ |
