I'm no cheat myself, but I met a couple in my youth and the message I got from them was that a professional cheater should behave as a chameleon, adapt to whatever environment s/he’s in and show as much, no less or no more, skill as the other participants in the game. Always shuffle and cut as the others do. Don't raise red flags, be invisible. A genuine request: I’d like to see the Shank shuffle that you perform in fast(er) company where nobody would accept you shuffled the way you demo'd.

God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

Members,i allowed a man I've known for years,a former carny and swindler,to tell his story here on my site in his own crude manner in the hope that you would find it educational to look into his lifestyle,a few of these types do still exist. at age 73,he assures me he deeply regrets his past life and I believe and forgive him.he has convinced me that he is a changed man.he did not wish to suggest that anyone follow his example, only to tell the truth.if this caused any of you offense I apologize.his life has been a cautionary lesson for us all.god keep us from harm and temptation.

He spoke to me and I typed out his exact words each time...some carnys can barely read and write...I won't do it again.some people understood, some got irate...perhaps I should have begun with a disclaimer but then it wouldn't have been off the cuff responses...

I sincerely recommend we leave sleeping dogs lie here. There is nothing more to be gained. Mistakes happen, tempers flare up. We're all human. At the end of the day, the Shank Shuffle is worthy of study, period. If you want to fully delve into riffle shuffle arcana as Jon Racherbaumer would say, then you need to become versed in the shuffle and the details set forth by Marlo. You should of course at the same time study the work of Zarrow and others regarding the Zarrow Shuffle. Only then can you fully comprehend the nuances, the similarities, differences, etc.

Keep in mind that no one should be burning the shuffle. It's designed to be a casual shuffle for the off beat. Even a well executed Shank or Zarrow will look suspicious when staring at it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.

That is why it is one of the few moves that was originated in magic that has made the transfer over to the gambling cheats. Because it really is that good. Many sleights benefit from performance on the offbeat but it's not necessary in this instance.

Right. We all know and agree with the old edict, "Always misdirect." But that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for the most illusive technique possible. Both can be true.

As a result of increased sales we are adding a version to the lybrary.com site that demonstrates the shuffle using a more refined handling...have a look later...cannot send the link...
