Hello
This is my first post since joining this forum. I am working on a routine with Silver Copper Brass using the boston box or okito box. After hours of research I am hopeful someone here can help. I have seen this routine in the past but I haven't been able to locate it since. I have seen threads with many SCB routines but not with a box. Any help or Ideas finding one or two routines? Books or videos would be helpful. I have worked out a handling using 4 coins instead of 3. I think I have gotten a bit too confusing for the spectator. I want to develop a simple routine leaving me clean in the end. I will appreciate any criticisms or advice you may have! Cheers! |

Hello and welcome
I would put money on Dave Neighbors having a csb routine using a box. I don't know for sure but he has done so much work with csb its entirely possible. David is a regular on these forums. However, the problem with csb routines especially for laymen is that its gotta be clear and clean as water or they will get confused and zone out. Adding a box to the mix might be too much. I'm sure fellow coin workers would enjoy it though. If you do nail it then I'd certainly love to see it. Sorry if I can't be much more help Cheers Nev

The box can be viewed as a container, or as a device allowing sneaky moves for coins.
Yes, using the box features to add apparent magical happenings risks confusing the flow of the CSB transportations/changes. What story do you wish the spectators to tell after the performance? How does the box enhance the story or confuse? However, the box could be used in ways not considered part of the routine itself. For example, the special box is opened and three coins dumped on the table (CSB), the lid replaced and set aside. Your favorite CSB is performed, ending with a vanish of the coins, singly or as a set. Someone in the audience will always point to the box - their safe home. Open the box and pour out the three coins to be handed out if desired.

I have two in my book "Walk Around The Box". In addition to C/S/B routines, there are also routines where coins are produced and suddenly a box appears around them. An empty box is handed out, suddenly the lid transforms into four half dollars, an extra lid is then produced from within the box. A box is squished/flattened out at your fingertips, only to be re-inflated. There's even a re-handling of David Roth's Copper Flight by my good buddy Bill Cintino. Not to mention an entire tool box section of sleights. If you're interested email me at mystre71@aol.com

I have worked out some of the routine I am after. I am careful not to be too confusing. I have a couple moves I am excited about but I am struggling tying the routine together to keep it simple and still impressive. Cheers! |
