I like the idea

Lovely -- very engaging, fun voices for you and the magic shop owner, and I like the way you incorporated a couple of magic tricks (O&W and the change of Queens to Kings) into the story. I don't know a lot about story tricks, but isn't the idea that you pretend to be making it up as you go along? From that point of view, you could work on your timing to enhance that pretense. But frankly, I don't think it matters much -- it was just lots of fun.

Bob,
Some people do present story tricks as though they're extemporaneous. When the exact same numbers keep reappearing in the same order, it's pretty obvious to all, that it's all been pre-arranged. I think trying to sell that it's all random is not a good idea. I genuinely feel that even if you sell that idea early, the blatant fact that you did arrange it all will occur to your audience. They're going to feel like you were mocking their intelligence. |

Interesting, Kent. Your perspective is good for me to hear, since I like the idea of story tricks and one day may try to make one up.
