Yeah me too... at first and second look I thought, wow, he is flicking the chips in a neat way. I didn't really get the magic moment.

Other than the second phase, looks good. Certainly unique.

It has been taught before, for example on Marcelo Insua's Penguin Live Lecture 3.

This would be a good conversational piece to go from ambitious card into some coin effect. or to do as a quick stand alone effect. I assume coins can be borrowed also.

Ok so as a hobbyist/not smart person, I don't know how it's done. Just want to know if it's easy or not. Thanks.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this but I'm waiting for more information as to the difficulty of doing the move. Meaning, the success rate and how much practice is required to get there.

Doing tricks can be easy, being an entertainer is much harder.

Harley is correct. -- the fact that some did not even notice what he did for that second phase should tell you that this is pretty good mis direction.
I like the idea and I just spent some time playing with some coins and could replicate each phase. I only spent 2 mintues with it. the last phase is the most difficult. I am temped to buy it merely to see and learn exactly what he is doing although I am sure I know as I just performed it a few times. but his tips will be helpful and I would want to support the creators of magic. it would be a great impromtu effect that would certianly be visual and perplexing at the same time sam

Looks more like a bar-bet than a magic-trick...

I got it. I am not 100% yet, and in the instructional video there are times when he is not 100% either.

Thanks Rowdy. What is the difficulty level? Easy enough for hobbyist without tons of practice? Looks like a cute effect at family dinner table etc if easy enough. Thanks.

It is not hard, but also not 100% reliable for me. If I sit and do it over and over it is 100% after a while. However, with this effect, you can not "practice" before performing it for your audience. You have to go right into it cold. For this reason, I would limit this to a fun gag type of effect.

Marcelo Insua did it for me in my last trip to his shop in Buenos Aires, back in November. He never missed and the coin goes from bottom to top, if you use a distinctive coin the trick is more visual. I bought the coins from him, as a way of payment for the trick, 3 black and 1 yellow Chinese dollar size coins. Went back to the hotel and after 2 hours of looking for the coins all over the floor and getting frustrated I started to get it right.
You need to practice more than you think to do it right (like a finger palm, it looks easy but needs practice to make it work without hesitation or flashing), it is not self working, also I tried to use a pencil for the flick, and found out that the finger is better. All along I am happy with it, I can do it now almost flawlessly, from time to time I miss one, but I am a hobbist so I am not constantly practicing magic, I think that if you practice magic often and dedicate 5 min to this after you got the knack for it, you will do it 100% of the time. My 2 cents |

Hello Friends, it needs a bit or practice but is not difficult, the second phase is great, because is nothing!!!! Actually you have to do the technique at first and third phase. At the beginning it looks difficult but when you feel the touch is easy.
