FYI this can be done with a normal NFC sticker and NFC writing app. Cyber does not CURRENTLY offer anything unique here.

Ok folks, got my order in the mail and futzed around with the gimmicks a bit. Buy it from Theory11. The tags are worth the extra $15 + shipping (if you don’t qualify for free shipping). The color on them is good. You get a bunch of them. They work well as well. Yes, you can buy tags wherever yourself and just wrap a bandaid over it and that would suffice but the skin color tags makes for a very clean show of your hands. I like this, excellent purchase imo.

Much of what you can do with this, you could technically do it without the app. It's just a fair bit more involved in both setting it up and handling, so what you're really paying for is a app that streamlines a major idea taught in Marc Kerstein's booklet on the subject (that's the first time iirc where this idea was possibly published that I know of). The booklet in question would be Tricks With Your Phone. That booklet itself is $45 so this app is like getting a streamlined and as powerful if not more powerful handling of the highlight method in that booklet for $35. The tags they give you then further assist with making sure the handling is super clean (due to the shape and the fact that they are skin colored which will blend in with most people's skin tone). There is a text message function in the app which I think may be something that I haven't seen in other apps or done this cleanly. |

There's also a "medium" sized set of tags that you receive which are suitable to stick on your palm or hide in other objects. This is also much much much cleaner than hiding a tag with a bandaid (also, from a performance POV, I personally don't like someone with a bandaid on their finger/hand futzing around with my phone, not everyone would feel like that but if I do, I have no doubt that there would be individuals in your audience whom have the same feelings towards it). A Sanada is an option and so is a TT but those are two things which take up more pocket space plus those two things needs additional handling (however minor one may think) considerations to hide them better and those are not as free for you to both use of and display of your hand(s). So if you don't care what tags you are using, sure, don't need the tags from Theory11 but what they are providing you is not that much higher of a premium than to just sourcing tags yourself. Also, about sourcing the tags yourself. What you linked to is a bit disingenuous. That is for a minimum of 100 1 inch circle sticker tags. Notice how on the same site, the square shaped tags which are an inch and a half is $2 for 6 of them. In fact, the ONLY tag stickers listed anywhere close to the one you linked to IS the one you linked to. Every other option there, you are looking at $2-$3 per 6 tags. In fact, the largest tag they have available there is one which is rectangular and comes in at about 2 inches by 1 inch. That tag ranges in price from $1.72-$1.97 (per tag) based on the amount you will purchase. |

I received the Cyber kit (app + gimmicks) and went through all the tutorials and also started practicing the handling and effects. This is my review ……
I absolutely love it!!!! This might be the best magic app to date but then again I am bias because I have always wanted to be able to reveal a spectator’s phone number without the use of a calculator or pre-show. First, the pros and cons …… PROS: 1. The handling is super clean and fair. Everything you are doing is completely justified and I do not ever see the spectator being able to reverse engineer anything. 2. The routines and effects are as solid as they come and a ton of thought went into them. I was thoroughly impressed by Worm’s thinking and I do not see why they did not show all the effects in the trailer. 3. For $50 it is a steal. I was a little bit skeptical when I pulled the trigger but In my opinion I got more for my money. 4. You get a healthy amount of gimmicks and I do not see myself ordering more anytime soon. The app itself is $35 in the app store but for $15 more it is worth every penny. CONS: 1. The spectator’s phone has to be an iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, 11 or 11 Pro. I am assuming the new iPhone SE (2nd generation) and the upcoming iPhone 12 are compatible. As time goes on I do not see this con being an issue. 2. Parts of the tutorial are a bit redundant and they could have made a separate section for this. A little annoying but I just fast forwarded on the steps that were repeated. I also wish the tutorial was a download rather than in the app itself. WHAT KIND OF EFFECTS ARE YOU GETTING? 1. Two phone call effects: One is where the phones are in each others hands and the magician’s phone calls the spectator. The second one is more of a mentalism routine. Some good ideas here and I can see endless possibilities 2. Two texting effects: Both allow you to secretly send a text message to the spectator. One gives you the ability to input a custom phrase, word or message which is a force. The other text effect is something very special. It allows you to send any word the spectator says. It is freely chosen and absolutely no force. I can see both effects being used in a zoom or in person show so long as you get their phone number from the ticket sale 3. Two visual effects: If you are really on the fence, get Cyber simply for these effects. They are shown in the trailer and it is ultimately why I took the plunge. I have never seen a phone trick that has theatrical elements. They have a Copperfield type vibe and are really over the top. I can see spectators going nuts. 4. Two integrations: If that is what you want to call it. Nothing was said about this but I understand how to use them so if you know how all the other effects work you will understand how to use these. For one of them you do need to own Inject. 5. In the app it says there is a pro version coming soon. It gives effect names but no descriptions or release date. I am not sure if it is included in the initial purchase but if the effects are as strong as the ones now then I see myself purchasing it so long the price is right. THE GIMMICKS They are very nice and discreet. Really smart thinking here. I know you can get standard ones on Amazon but I tried searching for the small and big sizes everywhere online with no luck. In the tutorial Worm states they are custom made and believe that is a true statement for the color alone. If you do not get the kit you can always order the gimmicks later since there is a link in the app to purchase them. The big gimmicks that are given to you are worth buying the kit. OVERALL Cyber gets a 9 out of 10 from me. I took off 1 point only because of the phone model limitation but like I said, I do not see this as an issue in the near future. It is easy to tell what iPhone model a spectator has just by looking at the camera lens. This is taught in the tutorial In short: I absolutely will be performing the effects, no doubt about it. In my opinion the effects are as strong as magic can get. My favorite ones are telepathy beam and text telepathy. I can see many possibilities that were not touched on especially from the mentalism side. The apple watch tip in the tutorial was a nice touch. I highly recommend getting this because I really do not see how you would ever be disappointed with the purchase. |

The Inject integration is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Why is it even there? It’s literally a glorified tag writer. There’s no point to have it exist especially with the description of what it is in the app (claims to be the ultimate accessory to Inject). LoL.

Here’s an idea, Cyber’s Text Telepathy effect can be used as a way cleaner version of AUGURE? I’ve always had this nitpick with AUGURE. For more tech savvy people, they recognize a certain dynamic aspect of the prediction. The pro of AUGURE is that you can send the prediction to them days or longer ahead of time making the impact larger in theory (so should play and be approached like a headline prediction type effect). The drawback of text telepathy is that you can’t do that, but for most close up situations and casual situations, I personally have never used AUGURE outside of doing it on the spot. The problem I’m trying to solve is making the text for text telepathy make sense. Using it with a stranger that you should not know the phone number of to me feels like I’m funneling them to the obvious solution. Using it like a streamline AUGURE however, seems to be the right way to go?

But with that said I think it’s important to understand the decisions made. CYBER implemented the Inject peek in the app’s beta version almost 4 months before anyone in magic was out there showing it. After it was out there we felt it was still relevant to include it for people that own Inject that weren’t aware of the peek or heard about it but didn’t know how to do it. In my opinion your comment about the feature being the dumbest thing ever was really hyperbolic but I didn’t take it personal. Just thought I’d let you in on the entire picture. In regards to the Text Telepathy effect I can definitely show you how to make a longer form prediction and even have multiple predictions but that will require some technical tweeking. I think these changes might help you in the routine you want to create. As the way it stands I wanted to create something simply but still hard hitting. The trick fooled top creators and magicians so l believe it does have a very strong impact as it stands. I’m not getting PM notifications on here but feel free to reach out to me on social media: @wormtv |fb: worm teevee Thanks for support. Without yours and other people who purchased CYBER I wouldn’t be able to continue creating and contributing to the magic community. Much respect.
