I have lurked here for the longest time, it must be years. My love of magic started when I was a kid, 6 or 7 I guess. First kit was a Blackstone magic set. I know, I know, my age is showing. Have dabbled in cards (not very good), coins (a big like), and mentalism (my favorite). Most of my adult life I served in the Army and would buy and do magic and mentalism for my own children, wife and family...those who would put up with me, and anyone else who would humor me. I medically retired from the Army and magic and mentalist keep my mind busy. Now I teach Philosophy and have worked in some things for my classes. There are lots of lessons were I can work a thing or two on. It’s a great early semester thing to get the students attention and keep it through out the semester. The biggest compliment so far was from a student who said, “wow your better then the guy I hired for my brother's birthday”. That really made my week. Made me also think...hmm maybe I could do this as a third career or a side job. Who knows...one can dream I guess. Thanks for having me.

Thank you!
My son saw my scrolling, here, and thought I found a new restaurant to order delivery from. He saw the logo on top and what he thought was a menu. |

Thank you Southpawd. I’m guessing by your screen name you are left handed. If so, I too am part of that club. May I ask what area(s) of philosophy interest you?

It is good to see another lefty...sometimes I feel we are a dying breed. I also feel we were the original “witches and warlocks”! Lol!
“The Daily Stoic” is awesome. I love Plato as well, always have. My main interest is meta-ethics. The areas I ate really interesting to me right now are autonomy of children, and freewill. It’s probably because of my own kids why I’m so interested in that right now. I see your in Europe...that is where I wish I could go to visit and possibly live one day. Always though my interests seem to be more accepted there. |
