Main problem with this is that there is absolutely no reason for the spec to push their card into the very weird looking "wallet". None at all.
Alternative idea: Set blank deck with force card on top. Have bill with prediction on table. Do trick, take their selection in your right hand, deck in left. Ask them to get and read bill, do a top change. Boom. But, of course everyone will buy this because it is new and shiny. |

My thoughts exactly the same as “dj” and Stephan. Why place the card into the wallet only to take it right back out? I’ll be passing on this.

I wonder how long before this turns up on AGT or BGT

Still not sure why a wallet instead of, say, a Sideways Shaxon. Blank deck forces the minds of any magi in the audience pretty quickly to a switch, whereas a regular deck gives you the opportunity to hold off on the prediction revelation and lets you spend a little time forcing a "matching" card on a different spectator. BTW, if one's heart is set on using a wallet but don't need for spectators to handle the selection afterwards (particularly the case if not using blank cards), one could get to the same place with a little (okay, maybe a lot) of roughing fluid.

I think any blank deck kicker is improved by using Jokers. Not that I do either but something about a deck full of jokers is still mindblowing but doesn't show that non standard cards exist.

It looks like we always have two threads about the same trick these days. Is there no way to combine them??

However, since I don't want specs googling "no choice trick" I have changed the wording to "There is only one" and it makes better sense to have all blanks and having only one real card at the end. |

It is kind of funny how all of these variations on the same theme come around. Mickael Chatelain released his Deal or Not Deal very recently, and I believe Joel Dickinson’s plot twist CAAN has a similar premise, and there have been several others over the years with many more to come I’m sure.
I was performing Doc Eason’s Impossible Opener years ago and that’s the same basic effect. I know that some say why bother buying these new releases when I can do the same thing with a top change or double lift, but hey, sometimes it’s just fun to try new things or change things up a bit. People on here sometimes forget that for most of us magic is just a fun hobby and it’s fun to get new things sometimes. For those that say they would never spend $60 on this there are probably things that you do pay $60 for that I would never consider buying, AFA needing to put their card in a wallet, I don’t find that people question that as often as you would think if performed properly. With some experience you develop your acting abilities and make them believe it is motivated through your presentation. The very few that do question it are the type that cannot enjoy the magic and see it as a challenge and therefore question everything. Someone earlier compared it to using a peek wallet and I think that’s a good comparison. But if putting the card in the wallet bothers you maybe do something like this...begin by showing a card in your wallet and say it’s your lucky card or whatever. Then remove it and shuffle it into the rest of the deck and talk about luck or influence or whatever and proceed from there. Maybe this will make returning it to the wallet seem more motivated? Anyway, just food for thought. I’m thinking about performing it using the AS as my force card and a deck of all 8S. They read the prediction on the bill and I pretend to mishear them. I don’t know, I haven’t fleshed it all out but it just seems like there might be a good idea in there somewhere. Not new but at least not seen too often. |

Excellent post as always Videoman , I totally agree I would actually prefer to isolate the card in a wallet sometimes than have to do a top change when the card actually has to come near the deck again . No matter how good you are at it that can been seen as a bigger discrepancy than the wallet use as in this effect .
Good magic to all Gaz 🙂 |

Videoman, if you like to leverage the favorite card and the pun, it runs similar to something I've done as a rift on a 3-card monte (with AS, Joker and 8S). Any thoughts about keeping the 8S as your fav in the wallet (or envelope or whatever), show it to the spec and ask her to name it out loud. Bury it in the deck (with the rest of the 8S's) and challenge her to find it and replace it in the wallet for you, all without looking at it. You can even ask her if she found the AS - and play with the misspoken card. Then flip the deck over and get a chuckle when she thinks there's no way she missed the 8S and realizes the gravity of your misspeaking, until she sees with the reveal that you predicted she'd successfully pull you out of your "predicament." Or tell her you could have sworn she'd heard you say AS when she named the card. Then do the reveal - she managed to pull an AS out of 8Ss, a feat and miscommunication you predicted. Anyway, thanks for the pun idea for application here.

Hey guys. I got this at Blackpool and have used it at several gigs. I reviewed it in the latest episode of my review show and performed a routine with it as well.
It’s a great prop and in the show I go into why it’s a great prop. Here’s the link if you would like to watch my review. https://youtu.be/8KQBj80zTNs |

It seems there is some angle restriction on this one. Looking for hearing some comment on the angle issue ?

I don’t find there to be any angle issues provided the spectators are not standing behind you Gaz 🙂

Before you have the spectator take the card out of the wallet you could say something to the effect (as you go to your front pocket to get a dollar bill or coins) "because I like you, to make this more interesting I am going to lay down some of my money if I don't get this right".
