Don't get it...it basically copies Andrew Mayne's Pocket Levitator concept but uses a different gaff. Get Andrew Mayne's. It's the original, and it's cheaper, too.

I disagree. It is similar in concept to Mayne's but the method is entirely different, much smaller and infinitely more practical and comfortable. It is, of course, more expensive, as Mayne's gimmick is made out of an item available at any office supply store for under a buck, while the Wild Levitation gimmicks would be more difficult to find and more expensive to purchase. There is also no risk whatsoever of the Wild gimmicks being see. Mayne's stainless steel gimmick is quite large and unwieldy in comparison and could easily be flashed accidentally. Also, I've had my shoe fall out of the Mayne gimmick several times, but NEVER with the Wild gimmick.
Angles? About the same as most levitations of this type--you can't have anyone to your extreme sides or behind you. All in all, I recommend it. A lot more angle friendly and convincing than the gimmick-free Balducci, exactly the same as the Mayne in regards to angles and appearance, better angles than the Bent or Marvey, without any special shoes to make or boots to buy.

Does anyone know where you can see a video of the "Wild Levitation?" I see the photo at http://www.hocus-pocus.com. Is that photo accurate? Do the feet really move to the side?
Also, it is unclear to me what actually happens because the photo and description do not match. Where is the coat relative to the shoes? |

Thank you very much Scott.
I was wondering how it compared to the non gimmick Balducci way of doing the levitation. Now that my questions on this are answered, I will now keep this levitation in mind. Thanks again.

Dave--
Yeah, that photo is accurate. There is no contradiction between the photo and description--both are correct.

Well, in a way it IS. You have to have a coat or towel etc handy, and you must be wearing your shoes...

The Wild levitation is actually the same as one that was released EARLIER in England by Dave Charles of Hocus Pocus magic, no connection with the Hocus Pocus web site company. They are based in Nottingham, England. This version, apart from being sold by Dave is also sold in the UK by Magick Enterprises in Sheffield tel; 01142 760482.
At the time of typing I can't recall what it is called (obviously not the Wild Levitation)and it may even be cheaper, you should check. If you enquire about the self levitation they will probably know what you are talking about. Paul. |

Try the Balducci. To be able to do this up close can be an awesome experience for spectators. The clearly ungimmicked approach leave them speechless, under the right circumstances. Buid it up and like most good things, less is more...
There is the Fearson aproach and his video looks interesting. Might be worth checting out!

Fearson's does look good but you have might have to sew, it's expensive, and the wild levitation seems to be almost the same concept as Fearson's Fantastic Floatation, only showing it from a diffrent angle and way though, plus the wild levitation is cheaper. I also do Fearson's one levitation that involves a milk crate, it's a good one but not one that should be done carrying around like if you was a street magician. I guess you could under certain circumstances though. The angles is pretty risky on it but it's a nice levitation and easy to make. It's the type of levitation( Fearson's one that involves a milk crate) that is more made for living rooms, parties, that sort of thing, not really for a strolling magician even though it probably is and could be done.

I could be wrong but I know it uses the same gimmicks and is the same effect...and I know it was released from England. Yes, Wild Levitation gimmicks are smaller and hidden better than Mayne's, but I just think the concept was basically stolen from Mayne. Using the gimmicks for Wild Levitation was a good idea, though. There is an impromptu way of doing this effect which uses no gimmicks that I like better than both of them. It's more difficult but you don't have to worry about carrying any gimmicks with you. -Corey

I think Wild Levitation is far superior to Mayne's. For the money YOU JUST CAN'T GO WRONG! TRULY SIMPLE BUT TRULY AMAZING!!!

I now have the Wild Levitation. It was not what I was expecting at first but when I got the first reactions from performing it, I fell really fond of it. You can't have anyone to the side of you really, or behind you, and alot of other conditions apply as well, but of course like any other levitation.
I really like it and think it gets good responses when performing. So in all, I do recommend it. Just my 2 cents.. Mack Magic

Great levitation.
However, you are left with angle problems. Best, Michael |
