Can anyone recommend an online card magic course of study, other than Aaron Fisher's? I am not knocking Aaron's course as it had some very good points. But after a few basic lessons, it became geared more for performance-experienced people. In contrast, I still prefer a more conventional "this is how you do it" approach. I would also like the course to include some guidance on somewhat advanced techniques, e.g., the pass, side steal, palming, etc. If you have had personal experience with a course it would be particularly useful to hear your opinions.

Thanks for your attention.

Steve Faulker has a nice subscription service:

I know you said on-line, but Roberto Giobbi also offers a series of videos: (23 lessons)

There's also streaming services:
Ellusionist: https://magicstream.com/
MagicFlix: https://www.magicflix.com/

And one of my favorites deals in magic:

Giobbi's course is my top recommendation. To get an idea of what it's like, download the first lesson (Fundamental Techniques, 30 minutes long) for free here.

I've posted a detailed review of the entire video course here, which should tell you all you need to know about it.

I wish I'd started with it 30 years ago when I first got into card magic. Working your way systematically through it is one of the best things you can do, and it's well worth the investment.

Thanks, but I already have the Card College vol. 1 and 2 DVDs. I believe that is what you are referring to.

Yes, Giobbi's course was first released on video, and is now a digital download.

So you've already worked carefully through his entire course? If so, and if you're looking for more advanced treatment, you should pick up the sequel Card Magic Masterclass, available here:

It's a 5 DVD set, and is also available as a digital download from Vanishing Inc here.

It covers these five areas:

Session 1 – False Shuffles & False Cuts
Session 2 – Controls
Session 3 – Forces
Session 4 – Card Switches
Session 5 – Palms

Excellent suggestions. I should again work carefully through the Card College 1/2 DVDs since the basics always can use tweaking. I have got the Master Class as well but have not started it. I have an overactive acquisition disorder, that drives me to collect books/DVDs, but I do not have the free time needed to do them justice. My original post was geared toward courses having interactive sessions with experts, not merely instructive DVD programs (although these are also very useful). It seems to be a rule-of-thumb that having interpersonal contact with an expert is the best, albeit pricey, way to grow one's skills. But thanks for your comments.
