Brainbow Divination by Magic Wagon will be available on either the 3 or 4 of August 2020.
Description: The performer displays a beautiful teak wood box along with a six sided hexagon wooden log colored (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Silver, and Violet). All of the items are then examined by the spectator. While the performer’s back is turned, the spectator is invited to place the log with his or her favorite color on top inside the box and lock it closed. The performer now turns around, holds the box in full view and immediately announces the chosen color while the box is still locked! The effect can be immediately repeated with a different outcome and everything can also be completely examined again. Brainbow Divination measures approximately 10.6cms wide, 4.8cms high and 5.4cms deep and has been completely handcrafted from natural aged teak wood with a lightly distressed oil finish and slightly tarnished brass hardware has also been fitted for an aged look. *** Thanks to Tony Curtis who provided the illustration above. Well that's a cute and colourful little item. But I am not sure about this because I am not that fond of divination effects.

Love the idea. Love the TEAK. I have no idea how I will explain the props but I am sure Mr. Talbot will tell me all I need to know after he plays with it. The props are lovely as always and there is always a way to explain a six sided colored rod as more than just that. I'm already thinking of adding a dead famous person's name or "signature" on each colored surface so this is about people and not colors. Each sig on their "favorite" color to help with the divination . . . . Excited to receive this! Good Job MW!

I am thinking that the rod could be explained as a scientific weather measuring device of some kind. Perhaps that would make the rod a practical prop and not a magic trick prop.
The fact that all can be handed out for examination will thrill many who desire that sort of thing! The small size is very desirable IMHO. I like it! And...yes, it is another divination effect but the rod and relating it to something like I suggest makes it different and perhaps more interesting than the use of dice, color cubes, and the like. Imagine the story you can tell in your presentation. Like a science lesson! Yes...no? |

Probably you can make most out of this prop (like also with e.g. Mental Numero) when you use them as a tool as part of a routine and in combination with other effects - all accompanied by a proper story. And the science lesson theme surely would be fitting. |

The shape also reminds me of a lantern, or Buddhist prayer wheel. The knob - which if based on previous versions of this effect - is necessary for the prop's successful operation, lends the block to looking like a weight of some kind placed on a scale, or even a teaching aid of some kind.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Anyone have any idea whether this is entirely self-contained?

That would explain how everything can be examined. The price is right so I am thinking that even if you have a hundred effects of this type, this would still be a worthwhile purchase. Beautifully crafted props and nice small size makes it a worthwhile addition to your collection. If you do collect MW, then it is a no brainer. You need it! |

If I'm not mistaken this will turn out to be self-contained.

It's based on an old international magic trick. Same workings.

Maybe this could lead to a pretty cool "Brainbow Revelation"?
