Mine arrived today and I really like it. Was a bit of work before starting playing around with it (those who own it know what I mean 😅). It‘s a nice routine and there really are just minor sleights that beginners may easily do.

Just got mine yesterday as well and spent today getting it set up to work. I will say that it's very clever and a worker. My dilemma is that I'm not sure what market it's designed for. It would look great in a small stand up or parlor setting as the 5x7 cards could easily be seen for the choices. The challenge is that the final prediction is VERY small in comparison. Each preliminary reveal is about 1" x 3" with the final celebrity reveal about 3" x 4". It is just so much smaller then even the "choice" cards. I can only see it done on a platform or stage setting with a full IMAG camera set up to show the prediction. Yes, It could be done in a more close up setting but the method and handling would seem to be a little more on edge with the angles. I would feel very comfortable doing it in a small group but anything larger would be hard to see the final reveal. Ultimately very clever and practical but created without the needs of any specific market in mind.

A very valid point Ray. A small sized prediction can look suspicious as well as awkward for audience members to see and appreciate.

You can certainly have the assisting spec read the prediction. I have this and am debating whether to put it together or not.
One other challenge is that the prediction is something you would love to give away but you can't or you're screwed. So maybe there should be an option for more predictions. The rationale for the small prediction is because of where it comes from. |

I think it's good for close-up and parlor shows. It's also a great Zoom trick, and that solves the issue of the prediction being too small for large audiences.

What is important is how the audience sees it and they could be a) a little surprised your prediction is small and b) if performing for quite a few, disappointed they can't read or properly see what is written. All important considerations. |

Great points Ray!
Very helpful to hear your thoughts on this. Makes me wonder if the prediction reveals couldn’t have been made perhaps twice as big? Even if that doubled the thickness of each it seems doable. But I don’t own this so maybe it would not be possible. Also, I’m generally not a big fan of pre-printed predictions. I think I may even prefer making my own predictions in my own writing. At least that way it could be left with the spec. Quote:

The assisting spectator would also be left with a memorable souvenir as well as potential piece of publicity for you. |

Yes, It CAN be used on zoom shows (although not ideal with the VIP Badge) and yes, the spectator CAN read the prediction although not ideal for the audience viewers to verify. I just think it suffers from traditional magician's thinking which is working from the method out rather backwards from the effect in. It's yet another little prediction from a big envelope dilemma.

Not taking away anything from Dreambox, ( I have just ordered one for myself as I'm curious).
I think Bill Abbott's NO Brainer is a great answer to the Big ReavealPrediction from Big Envelope with 3-4 reveals on the prediction. It has a great methodology in the selection process and has been designed for a one man performer. Definately not a cheap item, but its a winner |
