Anyone know where to pick up a Mesika Wallet? I owned one a long time ago but got severe water damage and had to get rid of it. At that time, they couldn't be located anywhere to purchase and I shamefacedly purchased a knockoff (don't remember the name of it), which I have to say worked great, but would have rather supported the creator. I'm in the market again and just trying to see if an original is available at a normal rate? From what I gather, they aren't being made any longer.
thanks in advance!

So it looks like a no go from the lack of replies lol. Anyone know where I can pick up a great alternative? I really like the zipper compartment feature
thanks!

I believe the closest would be the Regal cop wallet. You may have to learn how to cop out a card but learning that is actually much easier than learning to palm IMHO. Quicker and there's basically no perceivable funny business (so in many ways, apart from having to watch your angles a smidge more, it's the more efficient and better move to steal out a card). Imo, it's actually a better wallet functionally than the Mesika wallet, they also basically cost more or less the same amount of $$$.

Probably even easier with a folded card actually since it’s naturally going to be stiffer than a non-folded card. I also don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to do the routine that came with the Mesika wallet where the spec holds on to the wallet the entire time until you get the wallet back in the end for the reveal (both the intended use of the cop wallet as well as Mesika’s routine is that the load happens basically in the moment you unzip the wallet to retrieve the card). The slight modifications in handling you would do to do that routine would be negligible. |

Other card cases/wallets for your consideration (but they don’t have a zippered compartment which the load comes out of usually), anything with a SUC would work. That includes the Amira minimalist wallet, SUC and SUC II, a variety of wallets from Alakazam, etc.
Personally, I don’t understand what the advantages of doing a Mercury fold on the card has because it seems intuitively more impressive when a full card comes out of a space that looks like a just large or enough compartment because that helps camouflage the method (it looks harder to load such a seemingly large object in a relatively tight space relative to a very small object coming out of a comparatively much larger space). Handling is also more streamlined without having to do the fold. Alas, the rule is pretty much that if it’s an externally loading wallet that can accommodate a full sized card then there shouldn’t be much trouble at all to fit a Mercury folded card in. By externally loading, I mean one which loads from the outside of the wallet rather than a more classic CTW where typically you would want or need a guide to guide the load into the loading compartment. |

I'm on the fence between a full card in a wallet vs a card folded in quarters being better. Both I think are very strong and hard to desconstruct. I do agree with you on a small object coming out of a larger space, definitely not as impressive. I think that the card being folded in quarters might negate that weakness with the spec wondering when did the performer have time to fold the card. Interesting thoughts all around!
