Does anybody know an efficient way to buy regular Morgan dollars in Europe?
I searched online but could not find any shop (apart from eBay). Thanks for your hints. |

When I traveled through Europe, I went to various coin shops and always saw American coins, including Morgans for sale. You can always find them on E bay as well. But there are beautiful coins in Europe that are the size of Morgans and half dollars, especually old French and British coins. If in Europs, why not use those. They are beautiful, silver, cheaper than Morgans, and make more sense if you live in Europe.

Thanks very much Mr. Rubinstein.
I am aware of your love for Europe, especially my country (Italy). Indeed there are beautiful coins over here, but gaffs have to be custom made, and even a simple C/S may cost a fortune. That's the main reason for using Morgans, Kennedys, etc. I have also noticed that silver dollar coins produce a strong interest in European audiences: they almost certainly never saw one, but often heard about it from "Western" movies, so they are intrigued when I use them. I have also created some pattern involving cowboys... Regarding coin shops: I must have been unlucky, as I never managed to find any Morgans, but I'll try again. To be honest I was hoping for a good coin web shop in the UK or other EU country (otherwise the packet gets stuck in customs for ages). |

I bought my coins in the market hall in Lisabon. There where privat people in the entrance and one was an old man with coins. Also in Napoli Italy, I got silver coins in a shop very close to the University. My last coins I got this summer I here in Germany in a small shop for coin collectors. So you have to search for this kind of shops.

Check out the work of Ronald Davies, who makes excellent gaffed coins and based in the UK.
