Dakota is correct. It is very easy at county fairs to get rabbits. 4-H kids have rabbit projects and often have litters and they need to get rid of the little ones. Often you can pick up a rabbit for $5. and they are usually used to being handled so they are somewhat docile.
We used to have a guy in the local magic club that was a certified rabbit judge. Yes there are such things. Some breeds are judged according to the ear length. I.E. Netherland Dwarf must have certain length ears to be a quality contest animal. If the ears are too long or too short, they are no good for contest and ultimately breeding. My point is to talk to rabbit breeders and see if they have any such animals available. I still remember going to pet stores for Harry Blackstone trying to find baby Netherland drawfs that would fit into a quart jar for the rabbit trick. Needless, to say I tried not to let the pet store people see exactly what I was doing so they didn't think I was abusing the animals (I wasn't). Can you imagine trying to explain this?
