Is there a published method to get to a tetradictic stack from a new deck order?
Specifically for QuickerStack. Thanks. |

The current sorts will most likely be more efficient to shuffling. YMMV.

So, no published method to go from ndo to tetradistic?
I think it should be possible since with a couple faros, tetradistic can go to 4 of a kind. And its also possible to go to 4 of a kind from ndo. So, there should be a way, but now sure how. Thanks! |

Theoretically, Si Stebbins is tetradistic.
Darwin Ortiz has an efficient method of NDO to Stebbins. A while back I came up with a less efficient way. My method's main advantage is there is less running of single cards, and you can read it for free here: https://jackshalom.net/2015/03/03/uspcc-ndo-to-si-stebbins/ The reason its relatively easy do this with Stebbins and would be harder with say the 8 Kings stack or Doug's stack is because if you look at any one suit in both NDO and Stebbins, the cards in any given suit are still in the same sequential order in both stacks. But if you are trying to go from NDO to say 8 Kings, the order within the suits is more severely deformed. So even though they can both be transformed to four of a kind, the orders of the 4 of a kinds will be out of whack with each other.

Does it need to be able to withstand scrutiny? I’m unfortunately not familiar with Quicker Stack

Shakuni, I always find uninformed comments such as this to be quite revealing of their posters. Even such a well-respected card luminary as Alan Ackerman has written, "I personally feel the tetradistic stack is the strongest of all stacks." I would certainly not be the one to suggest that his choice is not a "serious" one. Some folks need to learn a bit more before they pontificate.

Barrie Richardson offered an idea for a semi-mem deck stack which I used for a while. Even Darwin Ortiz (in Darwin Ortiz on the Memorized Deck, Vanishing Inc Magic) made the specific point that there is no best stack. Maybe there is a best stack for a person for a particular reason I guess? 8 Kings, Si Stebbins, etc. have all stood the test of time. I guess I just don't want the OP to get the wrong impression. It's great they use Quicker Stack (I'll have to look it up out of curiosity), by no means should they (or anyone else) consider it not to be "serious". |
