The book Paul Curry Presents has a section called "The World Revisited" which has about 5 variations on Out Of This World. Bob

If you're really keen you can get 'The Best of All Worlds' which is a book devoted to large selection of variants. It's a very large book!

The book World's Best Card Tricks by Bob Longe has a version titled Get Out of This World that is fairly basic but very good. This book is aimed at the general public but shouldn't be discounted, it has some good stuff in it!

Derren Brown has a nice version on The Devils Picturebook dvd set.
The method is basically the same as the one for his Undertaker trick. Lennart Green has a nice streamlined version where you shuffle a deck and after they each select a color (red or black), you have 2 spectators take turns selecting or discarding cards from the face down deck that is ribbon spread on the table. After having gone through the entire spread the spectators turn-over the cards they selected to find that they are all the same color as they selected in the beginning. Charles Gauci has an effect based on the same basic method called Intuition. The versions above all avoid the pause/break in the choosing procedure from the classic Curry version and allow the spectator to keep selecting/sorting cards until they have gone through the entire deck. |

Just because it hasn't been mentioned yet: Mundo by John Bannon is a mini version of OOTW using about 20 cards. Very easy to do and gets great reactions from my experience.

My variation is only in the presentation.
On the Perverse Magic thread of the Genii Forum on March 1, 2006 and on page 71 of the book "Gerald Deutsch's Perverse Magic:The First Sixteen Years" I suggest using gloves which is what brings aout the result. |

Several people seem to have independently come up with the idea of a (blindfolded) spectator trying to sort the cards into red/black with ten deck face UP.
They fail, but it is then revealed that the cards are from two different decks - and have been perfectly separated after all. EG Galaxian by Stephen Tucker. |

For sake of completeness, U.F. Grant's Nu-Way Out of This World is a simple, but still impressive, version of this venerable effect.
