As a mentalist you must always ask yourself what if! And throughout your life you should seek to ask and answer this question over and over again, only then will your wildest dreams become a reality!

Saw the show 3 years ago in NYC. Finished watching the doc/movie, and so happy it is just as beautiful as the live show. I can’t wait until I can suggest this to my friends/family to watch when it moves to Hulu in January.

Is this free? I saw a post not long ago that it would be streaming on Netflix or Hulu (or a similar platform) in the very near future. I saw on your link you only had 48 hours to watch so that looks like a "rental" to me. Am I wrong?

it's about $13, for the DOC NYC Festival. It's only available until Nov 19th. https://www.docnyc.net/film/in-of-itself/ . Then it goes to Hulu in January.

One of the best things I've ever seen and shaming all those bug-eyed ponces who promote emotional mentalism. THIS is a lesson in how to connect with your audience.

Was lucky enough to see it live a couple of years ago. It’s definitely the best show I’ve ever seen

If you were kicking yourself for not going to see it live in New York, you still have 3 days to view it online before it’s gone on Nov. 19th.

You may be hesitating and saying to yourself that you’ll just wait until late January next year when it is supposed to be released on Hulu, but don’t take the chance. You never know what could happen between now and then and it’s just not worth missing again!

Just pay the $13 now and watch it immediately. This was easily the best $13 I spent all year! They should have charged $25-50 for a virtual ticket. I would still have said it’s the best value in magic or entertainment spent all year. I watched it twice and you will definitely find it just as engaging on the 2nd viewing.

I cannot recommend highly enough! Watch it if you have the means to buy a ticket online.

You can view it directly on your computer or iPad using the 9-digit code they email you. Alternatively, if you have a newer Smart TV or streaming device like an AppleTV (must be one that has internal memory that can download apps) you can download the ‘DOC NYC’ app on your TV or device and then enter the code there where it says ‘Voucher Code’. Ignore the Username/Password login boxes. You will have 48 hours to view it as many times as you like during that period. Hope that helps, ~Tony

Can't wait for this to hit a streaming service in Canada. I don't see how Derek converted this show to a film but have no doubt he did something interesting with it. In my top three favourite live shows I've ever seen.

For folks outside of the US, you can use a VPN service to appear like you're in the US (or elsewhere).

This is useful at other times of year for various things like watching Olympics coverage from countries that show the actual sporting events rather than the endless heartwarming story vignettes which dominate Olympics programming here in the US.

Here are some VPN providers with 1-month options as well as annual plans:

Question for those of you who saw this DOC NYC filmed version of ‘In & Of Itself’: What celebrities did you recognize from the final piece as audience members?

I only recognized Bill Gates and David Blaine, but apparently, there are several famous people, I just don’t know who they all are.

I read a review of the show and the author mentioned a famous artist, filmmaker, philanthropist named Marina Abramovic was one of the featured audience members.

Any others?

I can't speak to the filmed version as I haven't seen it yet, but when I saw the show for the first time in NYC several years ago (I would end up seeing it one more time after that), Woody Allen and Soon Yi were right in the front row.

In the film version, they have composites of various nights. At times you can see famous people in his audiences. I saw in one shot that Bill Gates was there.

Yes, it was fantastic. I got pretty emotional a few times just watching this recording of his show. I can’t imagine the impact of actually seeing it live and having Derek look you in the eye when he does his ‘revelations’. No wonder so many people cry during the performances. Utterly Amazing!

Lucky enough to see it live in NYC, and still fun dit so impactful as a film. The letter sequence is one of the most emotional experiences I've ever seen in theater. A pure joy to experience!

I was surprised (at least in the film) that more than half of the Mr./Mrs. Tomorrow volunteers claimed that they did not see the ‘Elephant’ the day before. I wonder if they saw it when they went back to their seat on their return day?
