I’m curious, for those that did see it live, did any of you also pick the card that said:

I AM
A MAGICIAN

On the final revelation part, it really seems that the performer can see through everyone’s mind. What an wonderful moment. The audience is not entertained , they are healed ...

The website says that it's available from 11/11 to 11/19 but when I go to purchase a ticket it says "Sold out"... how can that be? Am I missing something?

I was gutted that I never made it to New York to see this live and was so happy to hear that it was filmed!

I successfully bought a ticket three hours ago...

But yes, clicking through in a fresh session, I also see "sold out".

Dang, the FAQ page says:

Q: I’m trying to purchase a ticket, but the page says it is SOLD OUT. How? Why?
A: Just like with our live DOC NYC festivals, there are a limited number of tickets available per film. Please reserve your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Wow, I think I got very lucky.

Thanks Tim for taking the time to reply! Looks like I missed it... again. Hopefully it actually makes it to Hulu in January!

I stopped posting here but I have to say this: this show is something I have never seen before. Something I had never felt before watching a magic show. In fact any theater performance.

A true masterpiece. Thank you Derek for this emotional journey...Thank you!

I hesitate to call it a magic show, but it’s absolutely fantastic! Putting the rest of us to shame really Smile

This is a magic show with an impact on the audience, 99.9% of all the other shows are just ego accomplishments without any interest for the audience. This show is a very lesson for all of us about how to give a meaning to the art of magic.

Question for those of you who saw this DOC NYC filmed version of ‘In & Of Itself’: What celebrities did you recognize from the final piece as audience members?

I only recognized Bill Gates and David Blaine, but apparently, there are several famous people, I just don’t know who they all are.

I read a review of the show and the author mentioned a famous artist, filmmaker, philanthropist named Marina Abramovic was one of the featured audience members.

Any others?

I thought I saw Brent Braun as well.

I was surprised (at least in the film) that more than half of the Mr./Mrs. Tomorrow volunteers claimed that they did not see the ‘Elephant’ the day before. I wonder if they saw it when they went back to their seat on their return day?

I saw the show live in NYC twice, in addition to watching the film version last night. A question: what are you referring to when you say they did not see the "elephant?" I know Derek tells the story of the elephant and the 6 blind men, but is there an elephant hidden on the set that they're supposed to see? Did a part of this show go over my head?

Regardless, an absolutely phenomenal show! A must see.

I believe the “elephant” is the segment with the letter(s). I didn’t notice until like a year after seeing the show, that all the letters in the shelf are in the shape of an elephant.

Thank you! I never realized. Just when you think you've figured out everything about this show, a new detail emerges! It's an experience that keeps giving, long after the show itself is over.

No. That's to young.
You must be mature to understand what's going on (at least 15 years)
Much depends on the intellectual level. I would even dare to say: 18 (High school)

No Hulu in Canada. Saw the show live but I need to see this film. Must figure out a VPN solution.

Watched this three times so far on Hulu. Forget about the magic. This is one of the best pieces of theater I’ve ever seen. Fantastic!
