Hi
I have a short queston... maybe someone can help me. I have a set of Owen Linking Rings. A 8 Ring Set 12 Inch. I bought Ii around 2002. But I don't know which one I have? The Lightweight or the Ultimate version... Can somebody tell me how to find out? Maybe over the weight? Thanks for help Greetings Shorty |

Short Answer, email Owen Magic.
Hint - Light weight is usually hollow. |

Hi Bill
Thanks for your answer... I will. I am not sure but I think at the time I bought them, there was just one version. Probably not the hollow one. Greetings Shorty |

I have a 12" set of Owen Rings and I wasn't aware there were 2 versions either. I would guess mine are light-weight based on their weight but I'm not sure either. Maybe it's an extra Owen Magic Mystery?

Hi TRoberts
Can you put your Set on a scale? So we can see how light they are... would be intresting. Greetings Shorty |

Shorty,
Since there is only one product code (4148) there is likely only one version. However, Bill's advice of emailing Owen Magic is the best course of action. Let us know what you find out! |

Owens made Linking Rings both sold and lightweight as far back as 1969. I had a magic friend that had the hollow rings set.
I keep making the mistake, that magic shops like Owens and Abbott Magic actually made metal magic props themselves. They actually farm out the work to local metal shops. The machines are just to large and costly to have them in house, plus the expertise of setting up and running the machines. I worked for a while in auto steering wheel factory, the machine that formed and welded the steel wire inserts the vinyl and plastic is formed around, spans a good 50 feet. I only saw wood craft machines at Owens when I was taken on a tour, the time I visited the store and shop in L.A. |

As far as I know they only made solid rings in 8" size in recent years. The 10" & 12" rings were only sold in hollow.
I have a set of 10" hollow rings for sale that I purchased direct from Owen about two years ago for sale. Never used, but don't think I'll ever use them. I have the receipt and only asking what I paid for them. |

Too bad they are not 15 inch! I’d buy them!! If anyone wants to sell their 15 inch rings, please PM me. |
