The patter will go along the lines of being a "modern man about town" who wants to deal only in Bitcoin. However, when I wandered into a cafe to order a coffee, for some strange reason they wouldn't take my Bitcoin (!). Therefore, I had to turn them into some cash to pay for my latte (hence 5 x $1 being just enough!).

Excellent!

You might consider using a himber wallet and an extra set of "bitcoin bills". Bring out the wallet, remove the bills and hand them out ("Have you seen these yet? The best invention since Traveler's Checks - Bitcoin Bills!") Put them back, set the wallet down and do some other trick. Then proceed with your Locked and Loaded routine. The reason for doing it this way is that people are curious about things they have never seen before, whereas "normal" small bills are unsuspicious in general. You need a way to satisfy that curiosity IMO.

Thanks @martonikus - that sounds really good and suits my style as well.

I have a wallet that should work with your idea.

I appreciate the suggestion and will give it try.

Cheers!

I LOVE EXTREME BURN....BUT...when I assemble the bills and fold them it looks messy and an uneven mess, almost like I'm using thicker money OR too many bills

I use unusual looking bills to start and I find it is sufficient to hand out one or two “here feel this, such unusual texture” or something like that. I have never felt the need to hand out the stack but the himber is a good idea.

Thanks for all of the ideas! I just received Locked & Loaded and this was great info as I'm starting to make the gimmick!

Just be careful making the gimmick. Take your time it's well worth it. After you set up the gimmick and add the bills I would put it under something heavy for a bit, so you can flatten it.

If anyone's interested, here is my performance of Extreme Burn 2.0

Wonderful effect. Arts & Crafts are relatively easy. Bills and rubber cement. Video is super clear and thorough on how to make the gimmick. this is a keeper.

I agree.

Richard recommends crisp bills in his tutorial.

I used relatively crisp, used bills. Plus, I ironed the bills. The currency I used looks similar in age and use to those in Richard's tutorial.

After assembling the gaff and doing some transposition practice, I think I'm going to get some brand new bills from the bank and assemble a new set, because I believe new bills will help disguise extra thickness.

I took about twenty minutes to assemble the gaff including glue drying time. The instructions were clear.

*I gave this some more thought, and I've decided to try using new bills for the loads to see how that works before assembling another gaff with new bills.

Not sure if there is a premade version of Extreme burn...Everytime I make a set using real bills, its ineven AND the folds are not crisp...I'm thinking of using movie money (thinner bills) the only caveat is I can't hand them out (maybe keep one real bill in the mix to hand out..(I'm not sure..

I made the set up last night, my wife procured the bills a few weeks ago and said our bank could not guarantee "new" bills, and we got what we got. Which these are clearly not new and crisp. As a result (I guess) the made-up gimmick looks like a mishmash. And my lining-up-the-edges-perfectly was woefully inadequate too, on a couple of the bills. Having a jig to place bills exactly together would be nice, seems like there might be something useful out there. I should probably try my bank again to see if I can get crisp bills.

And my metal "something" also doesn't seem heavy enough for the transition, I wonder if that failure is also a by-product of old bills? I bought my set used on eBay.

Love Extreme Burn Locked and Loaded. However, not a fan of tying up several hundred dollars for a trick. So I created "play money" $100 bills. I attached screen shot of them.

I print them on linen paper used for resumes. A couple added bonuses I've found, is I can make the center one a bit longer on one side to make it easier for me for the get ready. Also I can customer print a bill with "Happy Birthday NAME" and give it out. Telling them I feel bad for not getting them anything, but here's a hundred...and not to spend it all in one place.

My patter is along the lines of folks are always asking if I can change ones into hundreds...and so I've been working on it. (Take out singles, count them, transform them to play money). Unfortunately I'm still working on it...I only end up with this play money. If I've a special bill printed, I give it out at this point.

I often don't change them back to singles...I like leaving it. I also use a fire wallet when getting the bills...always fun.

Only down side is the linen paper doesn't hold up as well as regular money (and for some reason the US Mint didn't think it funny when I called them asking where I might get some paper). So I do have to remake the gimmick. But follow the instructions, take your time and I've never had a problem. Putting them under a stack off books after making the gimmick really helps.

Also if the gimmick is off a bit, the misalignment is largely hidden by the way the bills are held and the actions.

Yes, definitely take your time in putting this together it's well worth it. I don't tie up hundreds I use dollar bills and twenties so I change 5 ones into five 20 s.

I've been working on a routine that uses two sets. The first tyvek "kiddie" drawn one dollar bills. I change them into real dollar bills. I swap for the second set, which then changes real dollar bills into real two dollar bills. The switch works in some instances, not all. So, if need be, I can stop the routine at that point. It really depends on the heat I get from the spectators.
