If you put a sharpie without cap in your pocket you shouldn’t perform for real people. 🤦♂️
I simply lay it on the table or leave it with the spectator for the time of performance. I notice that some people in this thread are ultra (unbelievably) uncreative and unimaginative. You guys probably have chosen the wrong art form! How about collecting postage stamps? If you have no glass available you can and should involve your participant or the environment. If you have no clue about how to to perform magic or mentalism, please stop commenting and diluting the thread. The number of posts of some members obviously don’t correlate with expertise. |

While I understand the complaints about being able to examine the props. One could make the argument that the props are examinable before the trick starts and after it's over. I purchased this and I'm very happy with it. Any noise is of no consequence, you'd have to really be looking for it.
The switch is so simple you'd have to TRY to mess it up. |

Could not resist and have ordered directly from Henry with DHL/UPS and has arrived after 3 days with me.
Can highly recommend this express shipping. Everything works fine, only the small round protective cap sat a little tight but after a few attempts it was then easier to remove. The noise with the well-designed remote control is kept within limits. The instant release button is quieter and barely audible, the 7 second button is a bit louder but can easily be faded out by talking. The effect itself is powerful, at least for the uninitiated - With some creativity and a good story / presentation, very convincing. A cap exchange should be no problem for a halfway experienced magician. However, I have also had cases where the coin moved only slightly and did not fall right away, but this is a good opportunity for a second attempt, since the mental forces were probably not strong enough on the first try. All in all, so far I am satisfied with this extraordinary magic trick, definitely not a toy or beginner trick for me. |

Mentalism has to be believable. It requires an audience believing that what they witnessed may be real. If you were conducting an experiment in micro-PK for real, you would require absolute focus from the audience, not have them chattering to cover the method. You wouldn't reach to s****h out an object vital to the experiment. You would be ensuring that everything was fair and above board. Watch the footage of Kulagina and realise how useless the experiment would be if she reached for the items immediately after defying the laws of physics. Magic doesn't have the same hurdles to overcome; the audience know it's a trick so they make allowances for odd un-motivated actions -such as putting uncapped markers in your pocket or spiriting props away with undue haste. This maybe plays brilliantly as magic -and nothing wrong with that, magic is one of the great performance art forms - but the reported flaws in the gimmick, examinability and routining would make it unsuitable for serious Mentalism performances, in my opinion. And they should still take the lie about everything being examinable out of the trailer. Keep fighting for truth in magic advertising. It's a shame. If the advertising was true it could have made for a brilliant micro-PK experiment. |

No need to put the uncapped Sharpie in pocket. Just leave it on the table or in the hand of the spec who has just used it to write on the coin. No need to rush to switch the cap. There's a glass over it and they will be more interested in the coin. Just pick up the glass, give them the coin while talking the marker off them and capping with the actual cap. Or just a one-handed switch and let them cap it themselves.

I don’t think spectators will even notice that the Sharpie goes into the pocket uncapped. After watching the trailer a few times, I didn’t realize it until I read it here. The audiepshould be focused elsewhere anyway.

I think it is just about as simple to carry a bit of IT as it would be to carry this gimmick. I also think that either of them have their potential flaws. One may break, and the other might run out of "juice". However, with IT, my total cost is less than a penny and I can carry spares. KJ |

One advantage I see with this is that I assume you can walk away from the device and it will fall even if you are 20 feet away, if that is important to some.

You also don’t have to reach for the cap as soon it is over. You are obviously not aware of how effectively this can be performed and you lack creativity if you think this way. Your arguments are clearly not supported by any experience with the product! I will stop arguing with you because It’s like talking to a wall. Btw. the wish for examination of items through spectators is 100% “magic thinking”! |

Pairing with my remote was also quick and easy. No noise issues with the gimmick now and I never had any problems with the remote. If you think something is too loud you should check this with Henry. @Martin Pulman I believe our conducted layers (of deception) and convincers should prevent our participants from any need of examination afterwards. Everything can be handled openly and without any guilt. It works flawlessly with such a small and convenient object. Did you ever used the classic PK Sharpie by Banachek or FALL by Vortex Magic and Banachek? It gets phenomenal reactions and is a great Mentalism piece... ...although you had to s****h the whole pen! ... although you were not able to uncap it! ... although you were not able to exactly time the fall! You had to make sure that nobody wants to see the pen afterwards. In your definition it wasn’t “examinable” but it never was a problem anyways. It’s quit the same for Magnet-0: A first “examination” happens when the pen is used before anything even starts. The pen (the bigger half) can always stay in focus. It’s super important to set the right timing for the s****h. A participant should handle the objects as long as possible. So a second subliminal examination happens in my presentation when the participant does nearly all the work! I will not go into any details here but I am proud of what I have came up with. There were times I was eager to share such details but after being confronted with so much lacking creativity I refuse. When everything is over there will be no need for further examination. If I am wrong in that assumption: they can take the pen. I don’t plan to use it as a main effect but when a certain question arrives. It is great for a VIP (one on one!) after a show is over. It is not just the effect but about everything that happens before and after. That is mentalism for me. |

ArtIn great posts my friend , I think though the main argument for some is not how easy you can do the switch or that no one wants to examine anything which I totally think is all true and correct . It’s just the false advertising in saying it is examinable that’s all . I’m glad your replacement is silent and you are using it with great reactions . Very best wishes Gaz 😊
