Every so often, I go over to the big auction site to check things out. I was on it today and I couldn't believe the asking prices that people want for Tenyo tricks. I doubt if they are actually getting anywhere near what they are asking but what's the point? Is this an effort to see who can have the most expensive Tenyo item for sale? If these people are actually getting these ridiculous prices, I am going to sell all my Tenyo and buy my own island!

I certainly noticed it! It has been going on for several months now and the stuff is mostly coming from the same place.
High prices plus ridiculous shipping charges. I wonder if anyone ever bites. |

Hi. It's actually been going on for years. There has been some insane sold prices. For the hard-core collector, there are not a lot of other options. We use to post some of the winning bid prices here a ways back. I was recently offered $500 for a mint, sealed Mystery China Box. None of this is a rare occurrence.

What psychod and I are referring to are the crazy high prices for Tenyo tricks not in the high end category.
I understand high prices for certain ones but many of the listings are for tricks not even close to being in the big bucks category. Perhaps we should be happy that Tenyo still demands interest and activity. Better than people not caring anymore... |

Like I said previously, some off the rarer ones do command high prices while the more common ones do not. I think it is safe to say that at this time, Tenyo prices are very unstable and not based on availability but instead, greed. |

There are always people listing magic books for hundreds of dollars, sometimes books that are still in print. I may be stupid, but I don't get it.

Maybe they did not research the book and think it is valuable, someone incorrectly told them it is worth a fortune, maybe they figure that someone may go for it, and so on... I guess they can try it and see if someone bites. They have nothing to lose and may hit the jackpot. |
