DMC and Phill Smith have recently released the fantastic v5 of their amazing decks of cards. Some very good new features. Even if you do not use the Mnemonica system, it is there! The extra added features are absolutely worth having with this deck.
I am aware that Drummond and Phill released the following passport books containing effects, to accompany the decks: Passport to Alphas - blue cover Passport to Marked Cards (v4) - green cover Passport to Elites Pro Gafffs - green cover Passport to Elites v5 - (Tomato) red When the v3 deck coloured wine/ burgundy was released, was there ever a passport book in the wine/ burgundy colour for this deck released? |

After speaking with Phill Smith designer of the fantastic DMC Elites playing cards. I can confirm there are currently only the four passports as listed in the previous post. There was never a burgundy/ wine coloured passport book realise for the v3 elites deck.
The DMC Elites version 5 are must have decks for magicians. |

(I assume they must also have the standard suit & rank markings??? If the ONLY markings are mnemonica stack numbers that would be a different situation. But I can't believe they would create a deck with only those markings, because it would exclude the majority of potential customers) |

Hi,
No, I don't have them. I assumed from the discussion they must be marked with Mnemonica numbers. I just checked the DMC website & a couple of reviews. They come out of the box in Mnemonica order. They are marked with suit & value (as I predicted) PLUS the Mnemonica number. So, as I said, if you know a different stack (and know it properly) you would just ignore the Mnemonica stack numbers, and just use it like any other marked deck with your preferred stack. |

Personally I would like to see the DMC decks available in various colours (with or without the Mnemonica markings). But that doesn't seem to be how they operate. So if I wanted one of their decks in red rather than green I would buy the v5 just for the colour
But my favourite marked deck is the Penguin maiden back one anyway. |

The original red ones were the best, does anyone know what card stock and company made them?

Previous versions were Carta Mundi, although the new DMC Elites v5 are printed on USPCC Bee card stock. As well as the back markings this new version has a unique one way system on the faces.
So imagine being able to ask a spectator to think of a card, select it from a face up deck and return it, without you seeing the card. Cards are shuffled and spectators card is known by magician!! Yes you can do this. |

Could I perform tricks with this deck using the Aronson Stack?

To answer the question left hanging from 2 years ago: Yes, the DMC Elites V5's have the same suit and value markings as all V4's and previous Elites versions. In addition, they also have markings to indicate the card numbers of the Mnemonica stack; but you can simply ignore these and arrange your deck in the Aronson, Stebbins or any other stack system that you prefer.
Never try to teach a pig how to sing. You will waste your time, and it annoys the pig.
