I ordered Loops. It should be advertised as made from VT instead of IT, because I can see it as clear as day. If I can see it, won't a spectator notice it as well?

IET (E for elastic) will always be more visible than standard IT. It is more reflective. Lighting and shadow are things that need to be taken into consideration when deciding whether to perform with IET (Loops, or any IET). Maybe some others will chime in, but everyone seems to have their favorite IET - and in the opinion of some, not all IET is the same. "Loops" have been around for a long time, so there must be something 'right' about them.
You can see it because you know it is there. An audience could see it, but it is our job to create an environment in which they can't see it...or don't notice it. If you are new to IET, keep reading and learning from the experience of others. If you are not, please forgive the presumption.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

They break too easily for my taste.

They break easily when stretched too far but work well prior to doing so, just be careful with lighting.
