Hey, I stumbled on some excellent shirts for performing magicians. I honestly found them at Walgreens.
I looked up the name and found out they have a website at http://www.guayaberashirt.com The website has shirts from $15.00 to around $135.00. I don't know about many of you, but I have been looking high and low for shirts that already have pockets sewn on the bottom. Perfect for strolling magicians. They are nicely embroidered up and down on each side, kind of like bowling or clubbing shirts. They have the shirts in long and short sleeves. And the poly cotton's are the cheapest and most practical money wise. The linen versions are in the tripple digits! |

Brian, you have yourself a nice find.
Definitely a great shirt for clubbing magic. I'm popping that site into my favorites so I can get a couple shirts when I can afford them. Again, good find. |

Darn,
I went to the local Walgreens and they didn't have any. The trip was not wasted. On an end aisle they had a pretty neat briefcase, double card table with telescoping legs that adjust to three different heights. Picture two card tables with dark vinyl tops folding together into a briefcase. Very compact and I am hoping this is my father's day present so I can use this for some close up stuff. The price was only $29. I'll post more if I should get it if not I'll probably get it anyway. Thanks for the post Brian. The shirts look really great, going to check some other Walgreens in my area. Yep, these shirts are great for us fat guys! I'm gonna have to get one of these shirts until I start working on the abs. Then I'm going to show off my six pack. Thanks for the find there, lad.
I'm old as dirt; that's why there's no picture of me.

Guyaberas are great. Add a pair of wingtip shoes, and a nice puro cigar, and you're a walking Magic Havana.

I have worn Guyaberas for years. I get black and wear with black slacks and tee shirt underneath. Black is somewhat hard to find but I get then off the internet from several places. Also in long sleeves for winter. I do an active show and work up a sweat so I wear short sleeves all year. I do have a long sleeved one a size uo that I can wear as a light jackey in the Fall and early Spring. The embrodry make it look special and the four pockets are great for walk-arounds. When I do my weekly hospital walk-around my pockets are filled with tricks.
One time when I called the place I had gotten then last they were out of black. He said he had them only once a year for a Mexican restaraunt in Las Vegas. I was going to be there to do a show in several weeks. I thought of looking up the restaurant but I found another sourxe of the web in Minai and have gotten the there since. These things are so light comfortable and easy to move around it I love them. I got my first ones on a trip to Mexico and have loved them ever since. |

After seeing this thread a while back I bought a white and black off of E-bay for $8 each and brand new.
I really like them as well, very comfortable and I like the pockets. Thanks again to all who posted. Nick |

Brian, thanks for the info on where to get these great shirts. I have been looking high and low for the black ones also and now I will be ordering one from them. I will tell them you sent me. I use to wear these for years in the 60's when they use to tie die these and other things. Love the pockets. Reminded me of Captain Kangeroo.

Find a shirt you like.
Find a material you like. Find a color you like. Then have some made. This way you will be original and have what you want.
