Hi friends

Can you recommend some books that deal in depth with how to develop your main character effectively?

The essays in the books Mitox and Yokai by Phill Smith deal with premise and character. I found both works extremely helpful. Some nice material in those pages as well.

For me, Carissa Hendrix has done a superb job creating a character. She appears to have gone from a typical performance style to one which is unique and highly entertaining.

She has even developed a wig and clothes which matches her character perfectly.

Perhaps you will agree that it is a bit rare to see a magician go from what I would call a typical ordinary presence to one which has a life of its own and quite entertaining.

In essence, the audience gets an entertaining humorous character and a selection of good magic to accompany her personality performance.

She figured it out extremely well!

Anyway, perhaps in addition to a book, you may want to study videos of Carissa, both before and after here new character development to see what she has done.

I haven't read this, but it has a section on character development.

I have read these but it was long enough ago I don't remember what Pop covered as far as character development. They're worth reading though.
