MAGIC IN THE TIME OF COVID
WILLIMANTIC LIONS SPRING FUNDRAISER The Willimantic Lions Club’s Fundraiser in the Time of Covid is MAGIC IN THE TIME OF COVID, a unique one-hour magic show performed in peoples’ homes via Zoom on Sunday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. It’s unique not only because it’s broadcast via Zoom, but also because all the illusions are performed at home. No special skills are required. If you can tell the difference between a heart, diamond, spade and club and know what an ace is, you’re good to go. According to Lion Charlie Wynn, Magician in the Time of Covid, “You and I are going to perform distance magic, easy-to-do magic that happens right in your hands. Guided only by my voice, you will perform amazing illusions. Instead of asking some performer “How did you do that?” you’ll be asking yourself, “How did I do that?” All you’ll need is a deck of cards and a paper clip to perform really powerful magic.” You can contact Lion Charlie at wynnc@easternct.edu. The cost of admission is $25 per household. Every penny of the $25 will be deposited in the Willimantic Lions Club’s Charity Account and distributed to worthy charities such as the No-Freeze Shelter and Covenant Soup Kitchen. $25 is less than the cost of two tickets to the movies and a container of popcorn. To reserve a front row seat, no later than Friday, May 7, mail your email address and a $25 check made out to the “Willimantic Lions Club” to Lion Treasurer Ed Fisher/Magic in the Time of Covid/366 Ash Street, Unit 13/Willimantic, CT 06226 or send your $25 via PayPal: https://paypal.me/WillimanticLionsClub?locale.x=en_US On Saturday, May 15, you will receive an email explaining how to join the Zoom Magic Show. Let the magic begin! |
