A perfect fusion of magic's most amazing card routines: Two Card Monte. Anniversary Waltz. Torn & Restored Card.
"A winning combination of magic & monte!" - R. Paul Wilson "A killer worker that takes up no pocket space and is great to have in your wallet at all times. Easy to do with a GREAT kicker ending - Get this now!" - Chris Webb https://www.murphysmagic.com/Product.aspx?id=69642 Straight from the close-up act of prolific magic inventor and television consultant, Alan Rorrison. Plus, Prohibition Monte can be added to your repertoire WITHOUT sacrificing any of your current effects due to limited pocket space; EVERYTHING you need to perform the effect can be stored perfectly in ANY wallet in a SINGLE credit card slot! EFECT: In telling a story of prohibition era con-men finding ways around the gambling laws of the times, You remove two half cards from your wallet and show them front and back. You suggest a simple game. You will place one of these half cards into your (shown empty) pocket, the other remains in your hand. The player is to guess which card is in the pocket. Even though you give your mark EVERY advantage, they will ALWAYS guess the wrong card! (Until YOU want them to win a round!) For the grand finale, the final bet, you place BOTH signed half cards in the mark's hands and profess that you will remove one, or neither of the cards. All they have to do is guess what remains in their hand. Regardless of what they guess, they open their hands to find that the two signed halves have now fused together into a single 'twisted' full card, leaving them will an IMPOSSIBLE SOUVENIR and the memory of being swindled by a master of the con! "***! That's the best monte routine I've EVER seen!" - Jacob Smith * Comes complete. Includes instruction for the singed and unsigned versions. * Gimmicks are subtly distressed by card designer, Destino. * Slightly thicker stock to withstand being carried and used. * Easy to do, with a built-in hook with an incredible souvenir ending. Become a master of the con. |

Looks ok but to me, the monte phases look weak with too much pocket work.

This trick has nothing to do with a monte routine. To me this is more like a copper and silver with cards or a transposition effect.
If I do this I will visually turn the last half into a banknote before the spectator open her hand and discover the fused halves. I keep the money and the spectator keeps the souvenir card. . |

The ending is nice but the bits leading up to the ending are confusing and forced. They have the ending. Now they need a good lead-in.

Agreed the process needs some shortening. Most spec's attention spans are not very long, sadly.
However, I will restate here, since there are two threads on this effect, from the AD copy: "The phrase “packs small, plays big” is a cliche in magic..." Boy, that's for sure! I'd be happy to NEVER hear that phrase EVER again!!! Interested to hear more reviews from those that may buy it, and what sleights are required. (and, no, sleights are not a bad thing) Looks pretty good, though. |

Removing one card from the 3 card monte reduces the impact of the trick considerably imho. Garett Thomas Stand up Monte still my favourite way to go with this theme.

I like the storyline and the ending (souvenir) but not the faffing around in pockets etc. Confusing.

Not keen on the presentation: I couldn't follow it. 1.15 mins of waffle before he even gets his wallet out, sheesh! I'd like to see this as a knockabout bar routine: that might work. And fewer phases.

Exactly that. Presentational waffle taken to the extreme. Make it a sharp and short bar routine.

It looked to me like several minutes of swapping cards in his pocket while never showing the face of the "face-down" card in his hands until he was in position to do the 2-card monte move. I fell asleep before the end.

What ive done her is take an over looked classic and add a great kicker ending to it which helped me streamline a few other tricks out of my act and let me free up some pocket space too. As with anything I put out Feel free to and I recommend re scripting it to suit your own style. It will only help take the trick and make it better for you. Its also really easy to keep it all in your own hands and still have the same impact which is important during these times. I hope you guys like it as much as I do if you grab it and have fun. |

Glad to hear that refills will soon be available. Takes more arts and crafts than I'm comfortable with to make a gimmick like that. Let alone a bunch of them to hand out.
I agree that I'd rework the presentation. But I can see this getting some great reactions. Great to be able to leave someone with an impossible souvenir like that. Something I'm sure they'd be much more likely to keep too. Curious how many gimmicks originally come with it though? And any idea how long before refills will actually be available? |

The team seem to be really on top of everything so I think refills should be up real soon. I ill also look at doing a direct to cam for you of my normal bar presentation if it helps. |
