This is what I've been using. Bought a Magic Makers close-up pad, and trimmed to fit perfectly in the lip around the top.

I've also got a Pyle Laptop stand. In addition to the top provided, I have an aluminum case that I drilled holes in that I can attach like the top.

I made an adjustable aluminum music stand with a threaded adapter and flange attached to a piece of thin plywood covered it with velvet.
This is the lightest weight I could come up with and still strong enough to handle anything that needs a table.

I have and have used one of the Pyle tables and I have found it is a great table to use but I am not totally sure it would classify as light weight; at least not the one I have.

I've been wondering if anyone has had any luck using a laptop stand/music stand for a small, portable table, good to see that some have! "Magician's" tables can be so expensive for just a glorified/slightly beefed up music stand. The only thing I don't like about the laptop stands is that they have that small lip all around the edge. I'd imagine something like this could also work well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KMFL70K/
I imagine even something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KMF11BA could work depending upon how much weight is placed upon it. Or with some basic tools the top could be re-seated to better distribute weight. Any tripod base could also be made into a table with some basic woodworking tools. |

The instands are hard to beat for lightness and portability. I find the projector stands from Amazon to be more stable for cups and balls type stuff.

That instand looks exactly like the EverReady Table Base I bought from Tannen's a million years ago (and still have).

for those interested...this table is perfect for table hopping an I use it on stage as well Satisfied customer includes Bob Sheets, Marc Desouza, George Gee and many others
