Hello Everyone,
A couple of years ago, I made a theatre show in which we appeared from behind a projector screen, pretending to go from past to the now. That was just good timing, to make it believable. This time we we would like to walk through the screen, which results in a lot more difficulties. I have heard about theatre shows that used projection screen that was divided in vertical 1 inch pieces of screen. Is there anyone out that that can lead me to a good source on how to make moving in and out of a projection screen good? all the best, Marco

There are many film to life methods that could accomplish what you’re asking but we have used 4” white overlapping elastic strips. You could certainly use thinner strips if you need to but for just having a single person come through, the 4” pieces worked for us.
Keep in mind that s a “magic effect” this isn’t that deceptive as you can clearly see the person separating the strips to come through. It is more of a theatrical device.

Hello Ray,
Thanks a lot for your answer. We are doing it for a theatre show here in Amsterdam. It has to be magical, but not 'magic. So that sounds pretty good. I was mainly looking for the best ways to place the projector, without casting a shadow. I do not want to bother you with this, but if you could steer me in a direction or towards an example. That would be great. All the best, Marco
