I am stoked about this being rereleased. Been on the lookout for a while now. I can’t wait to dig in.

It's great to see some of the harder to find books being re-released.

Dr JK, what did you think of the book?

As promised earlier in this thread, I reviewed the book and share my review here: https://youtu.be/rn6roKOl8Yo

I'd love to hear others' thoughts, especially those who owned previous versions - how does this one stack up against those?

That review was brilliant Jeff!

One comment with full respect...Both ER-yuh-dite and ER-uh-dite are standard American pronunciations for “erudite.” It's not pronounced ER-yur-i-dite.

Thanks for the review Jeff. The review was super helpful for me and I am sure it will be for others too. The section of "who this book is for" and "performance settings" would help people like me decide whether to buy a book or not.

Not sure I understand the final pronunciation - did I say something in the review? Thanks for watching!

So glad it was helpful - that's always my goal!! Did you decide to buy or pass on it based on what you saw?

I think I will give this a pass. I am more of a hobbyist and a beginner trying to learn tricks to just play for my family and friends. Parlour, stage tricks and performances do not resonate with me.

I don’t think there is anything missing. In fact, I believe that there are additions to the text. In addition to generally support the great work of Hector and VI, that is why I purchased the book again. (I bought one of the first round of 100 copies). This is well worth the modest investment given the typical ample price of mentalism works these days.

On a completely unrelated note, I blame Steve Haresign for single-handedly causing world-wide inflation.

This was the best book I have read on magic and mentalism in years. Well worth the investment for his comments on equivoque alone.

I found Chadwick's high schoolish zingers at Vernon and Slydini childish, and in poor taste. Vernon an amateur, and Slydini a cow throwing paper balls?

Chadwick is an arrogant buffoon throwing paper airplanes. His book belongs in the recycling bin after a process of equivoque to eliminate it from superior books on mentalism.

Those comments were made by Derren Brown.

I think it's more arrogant to critique a book when you clearly haven't read it properly.

Ok. Late to the party here BUT what a great book. I do have to say that I wholeheartedly disagree with the ‘ANOTHER MAN’s GHOST’ section. Magic is magic. Mentalism on the other hand can open up an entire lifetime of wonder. I don’t believe in using a disclaimer in mentalism ever. Other than that the book is full of solid, well written and fun material. Just my opinion.
