I'm struggling with the Search function.
If I search all forums for topics with Measure in the title, it doesn't find "Measure For Measure by Iain Bailey" which is in Latest and Greatest. It's probably something obvious to most people. But it's not obvious to me. (I'm aware that I can search site:themagicccafe etc. I'm merely curious as to why the Search function doesn't find it.)

If you make the criteria "any of the words" the result will give you "measure for measure by Iain Bailey". You can search for Measure or the exact title. Both will give you the correct results.

Thanks Dave. That's exactly what I did. And I've just done it again, right now. And it still doesn't find it.
Keyword measure Any of the words Topic title only It obviously works when you do it. But not when I do it. Baffled.

Don't use topic only. You can select "any of the words" or "all of the words" but use topic and message body. Selecting only the topic is too restrictive.

Thanks, that works!
Since I only wanted posts with "measure" in the title, that's what I searched for. It's not obvious to me why that doesn't work - the post that I found (using your method) has "measure" in the title. But I'll know for future use not to specify topic.

I have had the same problem. There seems to be a bug in the search function. Often I search for a thread I KNOW has a certain word in the title, but it does not show up if I use the "title only" option.
A workaround is to select the option to display as Topics rather than individual Posts. This condenses the results. You can then visually pick out the ones with the word in the thread title |

As I said above, don't use the topic only criteria. Use topic and message body then you can select either any or all of the words.

Presently we don't have a tech team. My response is a very viable solution to the problem and only takes one key stroke.

Interesting! Thanks Dave! That is VERY helpful! I have had difficulty for years. Why I couldn't figure that out...must be a senior thing...old brain is hard to train...LOL!

Excuse me, but could you tell me if there is a function "filter by dates" for topics?

Alexander, There are many options there. You can search by number of days or you can search by specific date.
