“Dear friends: After a few weeks of carrying a (mostly) secret burden, later today I will go into n operating room, where a surgeon will cut a hole in the back of my skull and do a biopsy on a tumor and then, presumably, figure out how to remove it from my brain.

I am simultaneously terrified and calm.

Please know that I love some of you and like most of you.
I hope to cross paths with all of you soon. “

I wish you a great outcome and a speedy recovery. You know that you are a master amongst masters... and you lead the pack. Your ideas, presentations, methods and effects have been with me since my early teens. I had all your packet effects. You were the first person I ever bought an effect, at a dealer's booth, at my first convention: Full Circle. You devastated me when you did it and I had to buy it immediately. I did it for years.

A decade later I bought your color series... when they were a few bucks each.... the biggest bargain EVER!!! So many of those creations found their way into my mind and act. I treasure them.

As I said, I wish you a great outcome and a speedy recovery. You are one of the greats!! Smile

“My advice regarding having a brain tumor: Don’t.

If you can’t avoid it, turn to the brilliant team at the Cedars Sinai Department of Neurosurgery.

This journey isn’t finished, but I get discharged today, and will continue working toward health. My sincere thanks for the many messages of support from this vast, dysfunctional, mysterious family.”

“PROGRESS REPORT:

It is now a week since the brain surgery. They were able to remove the entire tumor. Much work still to be done - radiation, chemo, &c. - but so far it is going very well. The outpouring from friends, relatives, and widespread associations has been vast and appreciated.

I have returned to solo living (although constantly looked after). Two nights ago, a lovely Cantonese meal; delicious Korean Barbecue; tonight, fine dining at the Magic Castle.
High as a kite on painkillers, but functioning reasonably well.

And life continues. Thank you for keeping me as a part of yours.
