Does anyone have any info or Faucett Ross? I know there was a book of his magic, not sure if it is still avaialbe. Just thought someone here might have actually known him or at least seen him perform...Since he was a fellow Missourian I would like to know more about him.

The book Magic of Faucett Ross is out of print. They show up now and again on ebay.
Probably the best person to ask about Faucett is David Sandy. He is the International President for the IBM (you can contact him through their office). He gave a wonderful talk about his memories of Faucett Ross. |

Actually, the name of the book is Magic With Faucett Ross. You can occasionally find it at http://www.magicbookshop.com or at Bradbury's Books and More.

Sorry,
I was typing from memory at work. I can't recommend either shop high enough. Both are outstanding dealers. Here is the link for Bradbury's http://www.bradburybooks.com/index.htm |

I got upset with Mr. Ross when, at the Magic Castle BAR... he exposed the salt pour gimmick in front of a bunch of laymen. Sorry.

David Sandy told a wonderful story about Faucett Ross at the Collectors' Weekend in Kansas City. Faucett had a cat named Tuffy that was the cat from HELL! This cat hated EVERYBODY but Faucett.
Faucett left instructions that when he died, Tuffy was to be buried with him. So, David made arrangements for a veterinarian to go into Faucett's flat, do the necessary, put the cat in a plastic bag, and the bag into the freezer. On the way to the funeral home, David went into the apartment and picked up the bag containing the cat. After the graveside service, the cat, still in the opaque plastic bag, was placed on top of Faucett's casket, the vault was placed over that, and the casket and vault were lowered into the ground. About a week later, David got a call from the lady across the street. "What are we going to do about Faucett's cat? He keeps trying to get into the flat?" The cat that had been buried with Faucett was one that Faucett hated, an neighborhood stray that kept forcing his way into the flat and eating Tuffy's food. I guess when David sees Faucett at the Pearly Gates, Faucett will say, "David, what the deuce? You buried me with the wrong cat!"
