Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if the Alan Wong silicone eggs would collapse enogh to be put inside a "silk to egg" egg? If so, How many would fit? I was thinking of producing multiple eggs at the end of an egg bag routine, by loading a hollow egg, with the siicone eggs riding inside. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Shooz

NO because it is made of thick silicon material. You can try the Goshman sponge white egg. it is then covered in a very thin skin. There is or was a sponge white egg on the market.
Todays natural eggs do not have a strong enough shell to hold the force of the any expandable fake egg. If your egg you use in the Egg Bag routine is a plastic hollow egg, then it could hold expandable eggs. How do you plan to cover the entry hole? I take it you are not going to let the spectator handle the egg. The above is my experience. |

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the response. I thought of using a fake explanation, and taking a hollow egg (from another egg effect) from my pocket, dropping it into the bag. Then, releasing the silicone eggs from the hollow one while inside the bag, I'd take out the hollow and put it away. Then I'd say, now you know how the egg get back in the back. What I can't explain is how all these other end up in here, or sometimes I forget to remove the egg at the end... Oops, here some other leftovers. Just some preliminary ideas. Sound like it might/could work, Bill? Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again, Shooz

Ken Scott has a routine on his DVD Making the Birthday Dough 2 you might want to look at. He produces many eggs at the end of routine from an egg bag.

Couple of thoughts:
If you’re going to switch eggs, palm out a bundle of the collapsible eggs with a rubber band holding them together. Use of a lo*p egg, as with Chinese Egg Bag, lets you remove a lot of eggs from the bag. With a table and servante, you can swap for an ungimmicked bag as you pass by to get an egg carton and then you let an audience member pull the eggs out and fit them to the carton. (I’d use ceramic eggs. I’ve seen them at feed stores and they can be very convincing. Or hard boil them.) Just thoughts on options. Patrick |
